Reading on his Wiki page he was a brief member with Screaming Lord Sutch’s Band, The Savages, along with Jimmy Page whom both subsequently joined The Yardbirds. Living in Wallington myself back then, I went regularly to the music nights. Wallington Public Halls, a great venue as just small and we all just stood or danced about…Great times had by everybody who managed to get it…queues were always so long…
yes I like Johnnie Allans…brings me more back to trying to get Husband jiving. had lessons even…but like a lot of men two left feet.
Well,I think most of us chaps would prefer to prop up the bar all night.
I know Hank was a legend but I prefer George’s .
well basically to hill billy so George gets the vote
Can we have something more newer now…please
Joe Cocker did a lot of cover versions of many songs but he always seemed to manage to add something new and refreshing to them.
Anyway…
Even the federal Minister for Education and the Environment gave us a version:
Most definitely, to each and every one of them.
My all time favorite has got to be ‘Cry Me A River’ though, because not only does he put a little more oomph into this one too, the drastic tempo change in CMAR puts it over the top for me.
The B-3 and guitar solos ain’t too shabby either, although the latter could be just a half-a-notch louder IMO.
I have to go and read up stuff can never know enough… The House of the Rising Sun dates back to 1933 an American folk type song…Wiki is good for that… just a quick run through on this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJNFqhMJ4DA so I never got to post it up, which does not matter, but in the mean while I see Paint it Black, a version by The Animals that I thought was good, but then it gets a tad OTT for me, has a long intro, so left that as well…but now going to post it… easy to turn it off, if it hurts your ears …
Rolling Stones Version for me…easy listening is one reason, loved the Stones live concerts and made sure I did get to them a few times, back in the ‘good old days’…
Always loved the Jeff Buckley one myself …do not like the end where he shouts though…spoils the atmosphere of the song in my opinion
There is over 300 Version of Hallelujah apparently…
I like this one with Andrea Bocelli with his young daughter
I am a fan of his and the daughter is a cutey, so that adds to my liking of it …
Does nothing for me, there’s no feeling in it.
That sum’s us humans up, you can’t feel what I can…of course not we are all unique. Sometimes we just have the same vibes.
two covers bought out to support the Covid 19 Crisis which we are all aware of everyday.
My Son although has mostly recovered, since before Xmas he went down with the virus, he is still unfit to return to his job, a Bus Driver which is still a high risk job but nothing like what the NHS staff have to indure each and every day…
