I have been playing Connections since its beta days. I knew, back then, that its creator had to have some major exposure to Chinese, perhaps as his/her first language, and some exposure to either Hong Kong, or the UK. The clues were there, if you knew what to look for. I did.

Wyna Liu is a good puzzle creator, but not a great one. Given her background, her connections are sometimes very wayyyyyyy out, and the puzzle becomes not so much about actual connections between four words, but more about thinking how Wyna does. Very tricky, at times.

Hi Treeguy.

I’m surprised there is Chinese influence. For me I am frequently thrown by the focus on some of the lesser known aspects of US culture, colloquialisms, sport and food.
