Does anyone else play the Connections Word Game from the New York Times online games set?
It’s a bit like a more down to earth version of the “Only Connect” TV Quiz show.
I started to play it about a month ago when I noticed a link to it from the Wordle puzzle page.
It takes a bit of lateral thinking to find a common thread that links groups of 4 words together - some groups are more obvious than others and you are allowed a couple of wrong guesses along the way.
Here’s a link to it if you fancy having a go.
Like most of these games, you can share your results, if you like.- I’ll post my results from today below - I had 2 wrong guesses today before I got on the right track.
Being colour blind shouldn’t be a problem to solving the puzzle.
The actual puzzle you select the words from is just a 4x4 row of white boxes with the words in black text.
The colours only come in for the final display of results.
It took me a while to get the hang of Connections @RightNow
Some days, I just can’t see the Connections or I get taken in by one of the “red herrings” - other days, I see one or two of the group connections straight away.
Ooh, I’m glad to see you have revived the Connections thread, @Furryanimal.
It doesn’t seem to be as popular as some of the other online Word games so it’s good to have a few other posters interested to share results with.
Actually, I have just noticed there seems to be two threads for Connections, both being posted on now.
Perhaps we should stop posting on one of them? Or try to get them merged together?
