Clem Burke has passed away

Blimey!
1977 seems like only yesterday. I distinctly remember buying Blondies first album. I paid £2.99 for it!

RIP Clem

Even the new wave get old.

Thanks for the beats, Clem.

To be honest I could not have named a member of Blondie except for Debbie Harry.

I still find it a bit disconcerting when people younger than me pass away.

I was never a big fan of the band Blondie, but they were interesting to watch when I’d see them on TV.

Too bad. Another musician from my youth passed away.

Sorry to hear this, I was a Blondie fan.

I also remember buying one of their albums @Chilliboot, it was called Eat to the beat, some time in early 80s, from Woolies . Not sure how much it was, I vaguely remember about a fiver.

Yep,
I remember Eat to the Beat very well, a fiver sounds about right for that period in time. I’ve just got dinner in the slow cooker so I’ve settled down with a glass of red and asked Alexa to play me some of the tracks from the above. Listening to Shayla at the moment :+1:

I think Parallel Lines was their most accomplished album.

I saw Blondie back in 1978 at The Hammersmith Odeon, the tour was to coincide with the release of Parallel Lines.

Happy days!

Has to be Dreaming for the beat. RIP Clem

Great that you got to see them in concert @Chilliboot!
Yes, I remember that album cover Parallel Lines.
I think a friend of mine had that album, I remember we knew all the words to Sunday Girl and we would sing away together while listening to her stereo, we must have been about 12 years old! So many great new wave groups in the 80s, Blondie became famous also for playing a mixture of different types of music.
