I’m sitting here with my cup of tea ( run out of coffee ) next to the tree pondering what we’ll get up to during the festive period. Yep, mulled wine and ale, roast beef and duck, a fine cheese board , smoked salmon with avocado too!
My son is studying art and design, he’s currently working on animation so I’m going to order Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas on DVD to watch on Christmas Eve.
So if you festive forum folk have any thoughts or plans or Ideas to share please do post!
I couldn’t resist posting this link. The folklore side of things is fascinating, shan’t be hanging around in any graveyards on Christmas Eve though, I’m not that intrigued
Cooking my own dinner, might make a trifle, or something equally tasty. No Christmas pud or mince pies for me. Might also do some sausage rolls.
If weather ok, could walk up to the church community centre for a cuppa and sausage roll, and find someone to talk to. Just for an hour. This is where I usually go on Monday afternoons (but not today, too cold).
Will settle down to watch telly, or earlier recordings, and find a good book. And walk Holly in between.
Will I have a tipple? Maybe, a small drop of wine with the lunch, or a mouthful of cherry B.
Text siblings with Happy Christmas greetings and reply if others message me.
The lead up to Christmas will involve seeing friends and a few days visit of relatives from Australia. Christmas Day will be spent alone (has been for the last 15 years!). An indulgence in chocolate, Christmas goodies and too much food and a glass of wine or two. If the weather is good I will take a walk to the local park and wish Merry Christmas to anyone I meet.
