Chew Valley Lake - Zumerzet

In between the spring deluge we managed a day out in the camper van around the Mendip Hills and environs including a stop on Herriot’s Bridge (the causeway) across the Chew Valley Lake. I have never seen the water level this high.

It was also gratifying to see that everyone young and old who were feeding the birds were using seed and not bread.

Superb pictures!
Without doubt people are coming around to using a seed mix rather than bread.

It’s a pleasure to feed the geese and swans from the palm of the hand, very cautiously around this time of year if at all.

It’s very pretty there. Did you know there’s a little village under it?

It was flooded in the 1950s to allow them to build the reservoir
