No one walked on their ears, to the best of my knowledge.
Make sense to meâŠ
I think us folks down South bath twice a day due to the heat.
But, to be honest, Iâd still bath twice a day up North too! Itâs just a habit now
Ooooh yes⊠I remember that too!
In fact Iâve a memory ping too⊠I had a large metal fish that I used to play with in the bath. I forgot to take it out and I eventually got in trouble because it was there too long and left a rust stain at the bottom of the bath.
Somewhere else in my memory banks to do with bathing - wasnât there a time when we had to limit the water in our baths?
Plus in those days kids got dirty and had fun, that was part of growing up.

No-one walked on their ankles either unless they lost their feet.

We had a cement tub well not actually a tub more like a square⊠with a half wall⊠a bucket and a stool. Twice a day like clockwork! Then we got the real fancy bathtub when we moved.

Oh yes⊠how could I forget that!!! Got it in one Roj - well done! (sorry)
I was a plod then in all that heat
Ankles were closer to the dust than Ears, just sayin.
What was interesting in that article published in 2017 was that it still quoted temperatures in Fahrenheit - it is no surprise that Britain has never successfully converted to the metric system.
