The Assistant Treasurer (and my local MP) has said that the government will legislate that certain businesses must accept cash.
However cheques will go by 2029

I am one of the 13% using cash.
Though not exclusively. Higher priced items get the card treatment but for groceries, medicines, coffees etc the cash comes out.
I avoid businesses that do not accept cash.

I prefer cash if at all possible and also I can often get a better price by paying cash.

I will not shop anywhere where cash is not accepted.
