I agree
Hi
Boris has taken a huge pay cut in becoming Prime Minister.
He is also having to pay for his divorce, he cannot even afford to pay for a Nanny.
His income from employment has been cut by Ā£200,000 a year.
Aww poor wee man having to suffer. Perhaps he should have seen his wife through her cancer and made sure she was ok before skiting off with his floozy. Sorry Swimmy, but I have zero sympathy for any of his āproblemsā (slightly off topic, apologies to Mods)
Hi
I am not offended in anyway by your response.
I have a dry, Northern sense of humour.
You will get used to it.
I cannot foresee any circumstances in which I would buy him a drink.
Oh thats good then Swimmy And no, me neither. Nor would I accept one from him too!
Why does it matter to anyone what colour wallpaper someone else wants - even if there was any truth in it?
I certainly havenāt got to look at it all day, so what on earth has it got to do with me - or anyone else?
Do you think No. 10 would care what wallpaper any of us had?
I think my original point, Mups, is that they are setting up a charity for it - to be funded by Tory donators. A charity!
Charities are to help people in need.
I would still balk at it, if she set up a charitable fund to live in a mud hut.
The point being is she wants it, but is not prepared to pay for it.
I see Pixie.
My apologies, I think I misunderstood.
Sāalright, Mupsā¦this thread is several pages long so I honestly donāt expect everyone to read everything
The thing isā¦ there is no such thing as a free lunch!
Itās just been confirmed, the carpet has been pissed on and the
furniture been chewed
The rescue dog now needs rescuing again apparently ??
Donkeyman!
Hi
It is a rent free large flat in the most expensive part of London.
Stop complaining about the costs of decorating it.
Quite .
An otherwise unremarkable young woman who has already got a sizeable meal ticket for life ( or at least for the next 18 years ) in the form of a child with an ageing lothario she is entitled to everything for free.
Ok, that was funny.
Hi
No pun intended, but that is a heavy price to pay.:-p
Reminds me of Trump and Melania.
I simply do not understand it.
I have no interest at all in females young enough to be my daughter, that is just plain wrong.
A sexy older lady, complete with lines, most definitely.
I agreeā¦who cares? Let them set up a charity its up to individuals if they want to contribute or not. I would like to see it when its done too Paulineā¦good luck to her.
Hi
I have a little bit of Brilliant white trade matt emulsion left.
It was only Ā£1 a litre, they are welcome to it.

What is Carrie Symondsās status?
The curious similarities between Carrie Symonds and Marie Antoinette | The Spectator (extract)
She seems to have a lot of influence but its extent is undefined. People find the lack of clarity unsettling. Nic Conner of the Bow Group observed in the Times that unlike ministers or civil servants she ācannot be sackedā ā a questionable point given Boris Johnsonās alleged amatory record. It is true however that she was neither elected nor appointed.
So what is she ā mistress, partner, girlfriend, fiancĆ© or (perish the thought) first lady? We have to raid the historical locker to find the mot juste: maĆ®tresse-en-titre - the official mistress of the French kings. The mistress that seems most relevant is Madame de Pompadour (1721-64) the maĆ®tresse-en-titre of Louis XV. She was the de facto prime minister ā making ministers (Choiseul) and breaking them (Maurepas) just as Ms Symonds is rumoured to have seen off Dominic Cummings. Both women also had their own agenda. In the case of Pompadour it was alliance with Franceās hereditary enemy Austria. For her own part, Ms Symonds seems to be pushing an expensive green agenda further than many people want to go.
When Mr Johnson marries Carrie Symonds, the nearest equivalent for her will be Marie-Antoinette. Her power stemmed from the fact that her husband Louis XVI never took a mistress so that Marie-Antoinette combined both roles ā mistress and queen. There is an interesting parallel between Madame de Pompadour and Marie-Antoinette: they both only began to exert major influence on their respective kings after sexual relations had ceased. In Madame de Pompadourās case this was circa 1750; in that of Marie-Antoinette, it was after she became pregnant with Sophie, her last child who was born on 9 July 1786.
An interesting viewpoint ā¦
