Carrie Symonds and the Gold Wallpaper

Now the idiot is posing in a gym complete with shorts, tee shirt and boxing gloves - trying to appeal to the working class again?

Hi

No need for that round here, just walk on the street.

Boris Johnson paid for all son’s childcare costs, says Downing Street

Boris Johnson has paid all the costs for his one-year-old son Wilfred’s childcare, Downing Street has said.

The comment comes in response to a Sunday Times report saying the prime minister had approached Conservative backers for help with funding a nanny.

The questions come as the funding of renovations to the prime minister’s Downing Street - reportedly costing up to £200,000 - are under scrutiny.

Mr Johnson has insisted he met the cost himself but has refused to say whether bills were initially paid by donors.

The Electoral Commission, the prime minister’s adviser on ministerial standards and the cabinet secretary are also looking into the matter.

At the weekend, the Sunday Times quoted one Conservative Party backer saying they “resented” being asked to help foot the bill for Wilfred’s childcare.

Asked about the issue during the Downing Street press briefing, Mr Johnson’s official spokesman said: “The prime minister has covered the costs of all childcare. I have nothing more to add to that. I am not going to be getting into any more detail.”

Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner called on Mr Johnson and the Conservative Party to publish all correspondence relating to the claims.

“We are seeing what looks like another cover-up from the prime minister, who is trying to hide his attempts to fund his lifestyle through secret payments from wealthy Tory donors,” she said.

Presumably BJ will, in due course, produce all bills, invoices, receipts for the Electoral Commission and thus dispel all suspicion of “dodgy dealings” in his personal life as PM …

Why does he need a nanny the child has a mother .

I think she works though Muddy…pretty sure she is quite high ranking in the political world. After all, that’s how they met…

He’s upper-class …

As soon as he can speak but before he masters Latin he will call her “Splodge” or “Daylybel” or somesuch …

Tut…don’t be so insensitive…She’s a working Woman with one Child…I mean…splutter…She works day and night for a Charity of Her choice…the poor wee Lass must be exhausted!:043::043::043:

Boris Johnson ‘kept cabinet chief in dark’ over Downing Street refurbishment

Boris Johnson reportedly kept his most senior civil servant in the dark about plans for a charity to take charge of refurbishing his Downing Street flat.

Simon Case only became aware of the plans in late February, after a news story was published appeared about the Prime Minister’s difficulty funding the renovation, the Times reported.

Mr Case, who was appointed cabinet secretary last September, is now playing a leading role in handling the fallout over the refurbishment.

A spokesman for the Cabinet Office confirmed that the civil servant was not told about the plan until newspapers uncovered it.

Obviously, BJ was too busy saving the nation …

Did a shock £350,000 tax bill trigger Boris Johnson’s pleas for Downing St cash?

In all the controversy over Boris Johnson’s costly flat refurbishment and his falling out with Dominic Cummings, the most perplexing question is why a Prime Minister paid £157,000 a year should feel the need to ask donors to pay for his wallpaper.

The PM’s poverty may have been triggered by a giant income tax demand that landed on his doorstep months after he moved into 10 Downing Street and which swallowed up his entire official salary for two years.

An analysis of the Prime Minister’s published finances reveals this bill could indeed have been colossal. Two leading tax experts estimate it would have added up to £350,000 or even £370,000, the first tranche becoming due in January 2020 which is when Mr Johnson appears to have started his quest for donors to help cover the redecorations of the flat he shares with fiancée Carrie Symonds.

BJ is notorously chaotic with money - it is not hard to imagine him spending the money and then finding out he owes a fortune in income tax to the Treasury (look at how he’s spent hundreds of billions of borrowed pounds * on useless anti-COVID projects, incurring monstrous debts for the UK for years to come).

  • The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) - which keeps tabs on government spending - said that borrowing would be £355bn for the current financial year (April 2020 to April 2021), before falling back to £234bn over the next year.

Boris Johnson rents out houses for over £8k per month.

Boris Johnson is preparing to rent out his £1.2 million townhouse to raise cash following his second divorce and the refurbishment of his Downing Street flat, it is reported.

The Prime Minister has taken out a buy-to-let mortgage on the home in Camberwell, south London, that he bought with his fiancée Carrie Symonds, it is understood.

Property experts told the Times that Mr Johnson, 56, and Ms Symonds, 33, could let the house for up to £4,000 a month.

Mr Johnson and Ms Symonds purchased their home in Camberwell in July 2019 with a mortgage from Santander.

It was remortgaged with Clydesdale Bank in August last year, according to Land Registry documents seen by the Times.

The Prime Minister recently put his £1.2 million house near Thame in Oxfordshire up for rent.

The four-bedroom detached house boasts a tennis court and a swimming pool.

It was listed at £4,250 a month in April, and a lease was agreed this week, it was reported.

Mr Johnson bought the property for £640,000 in 2003, but his former wife Marina Wheeler is entitled to a share of the property as part of their divorce settlement.

The Times reported that the property does not appear on the PM’s register of interests.

It seems that BJ is (belatedly) trying to legitimise parts of his income and expenditure …

Boris Johnson flat revamp probe to report by end of May

Boris Johnson’s standards adviser has vowed to publish a report on the revamp of the PM’s Downing Street flat by the end of May.

Mr Johnson asked Lord Geidt to look into the issue in April, after claims it was initially paid for by donations.

The peer said he also hoped to publish the much-delayed register of ministerial interests, which would include any loans the PM received.

He told MPs he would be prepared to resign if his advice is ignored.

Boris Johnson has appointed ord Geidt as his new independent (sic) adviser on ministers’ interests.

The terms of reference for Lord Geidt’s job, which includes advising the PM on the code governing ministers’ behaviour, have been changed by Mr Johnson.

He will now be able to “confidentially” raise concerns with the prime minister, if he thinks allegations the code has been broken need to be investigated. But he will not be able to launch investigations himself, as the PM believes that could lead to probes into “trivial or vexatious complaints”, his spokesman said.

The spokesman added that the PM will retain the power to decide whether ministers have broken the code, and any appropriate sanctions. Asked if that meant the prime minister could reject any of Lord Geidt’s findings about his own conduct, the spokesman said: "The prime minister will remain the ultimate arbiter of this, yep."

Hi

I really am not bothered about the cost, I am seriously bothered about any non disclosure and evasion.

I am now going to make myself unpopular, but I can cope.

We do not pay our Prime Minister enough, Boris should be paid far more.

£1 million a year is not out of line for anyone running UK PLC.

It would mean that that they are not beholden to anyone and can take unpopular decisions.

We pay others in Government more than we pay our Prime Minister, which is a nonsense.

I am not a Boris fan and was certainly not a fan of Blair and May.

They do however deserve to be paid well.

I completely disagree .
He wanted to be PM
He has two rent free residence to use and numerous other perks he has far more more than most of the people in this country.
You don’t need £100 a roll wallpaper to be a leader .
Nor do you need to be beholden to anyone for it .
His job is to lead the government of this country .
if he wants to indulge the tastes of his concubine he should use his own money .

I agree Muddy !!
The perks far outweigh the salary ??
And not all in money either ??

Donkeyman!

I read somewhere that a PM had to pay to be a PM once upon a time ??

 Donkeyman!

After being given a pasting for getting Tory donors to pay for gold wallpaper in his Downing Street flat, Boris Johnson faced fresh embarrassment last night – it keeps falling down.

The Prime Minister has had to call in specialist decorators to rehang parts of the £840 per roll ‘hand-crafted’ wallpaper, No 10 sources say.

Shame about the wallpaper … :081:

The latest twist in the ‘Wallpapergate’ affair came as a photograph emerged of upmarket interior designer Lulu Lytle visiting Downing Street (see below).

Blimey, if that’s typical of her “dress sense” then no wonder that she produces rooms like this:

Oh Omah! That made me chuckle so much! All that expense for wallpaper and it can’t even stay up! Did they run out of money and have to use paste from the poundshop or something??!:044:

At that price I would have stapled it to the wall  At least then you could take it with you when you moved.

Lulu and Carrie probably agreed on an organic flour and spring water paste but got the proportions wrong …

Hi

I would not want to be Prime Minister at all, irrespective of the pay.

It is not worth the hassle and contrary to popular belief, you can’t really change much.

Peeling Lulu Lytle wallpaper leaves prime minister out of pocket

Boris Johnson’s money problems may have gone from bad to worse after it emerged that his peeling £840-a-roll wallpaper is non-refundable.

The prime minister is said to have hired a team of specialist decorators to salvage the “gold” print after it started coming off the walls of his Downing Street flat. Soane Britain, the luxury interior design company hired to redecorate the flat, does not offer refunds on its wallpaper once hung, meaning that Johnson and his fiancée, Carrie Symonds, could be left thousands of pounds out of pocket.

Quelle Catastrophe!
