Camera connecting cables update

Ok it has been a bit of a headache I will admit, getting this rig right to fire off two Panasonic cameras and 2 flashguns with one trigger.

the issue is which cables are the right ones for this rig. if I just used the top unit only connected direct to the camera without the middle unit (fires the flashguns), then a 2,5mm 3 pole end to end cable works

However with the middle unit added then that requires a 2.5mm 3 pole to 4 pole cable for the extra circuit.
The odd thing is “and I have no idea why” the top unit is still directly connected to the camera, so should still work the same as the 3 pole end to end cable

All i can conclude is there must be some sort of back feed from the camera to the flash unit (middle). To my mind this just does not make any sense

now another headache. no company makes a 2.5mm 3 pole straight short cable to the other end being 4 pole. not even the original company sells individual cables, one has to but a transmitter and receiver just for a spare cable
So I have had to get one with a curled cable instead

I am wondering if this can be achieved by some kind of wireless triggering.

This is all wireless by using a remote trigger as shown in the vid below

I am wondering what you intend to photograph that requires such a set up?

For me that is more interesting than cable selection.
