British Gas boss takes £3.7m bonus despite criticism

Shocking!

That chart showing Centrica’s annual profits is absolutely disgusting

0.9 billion in 2021 … up to 3.3 billion last year.
And this, whilst there are poor, elderly or vulnerable people struggling to pay their energy bills.

I read that the 3.7 million was last years bonus, this year it’s 10 million

Let’s duplicate it here for future reference :icon_twisted:

It really wouldn’t surprise me Alan…

The poor have always been poor, and the rich have always been rich, a new set of figures proves nothing.

People are more vocal about their objection to it now Spitty - it’ll be interesting to see whether this generation actually does anything about it… or not :upside_down_face:

I was vocal, a while ago, and no one was bothered, ain’t about to get down with the kids to get listened to. :icon_wink:

Isn’t that the purpose of a company in a capitalist economy to maximise the return for shareholders and reward the CEO?

It is the job of government, to protect the rights of citizens and maintain an environment that facilitates proper functioning of markets and restricts the natural tendency toward monopoly. If you don’t like it then you go and live in a command economy.

Is that an economy where folks can’t afford Pants?
