Brexit benefits - where are they?

I know what “being able to” means. My question was “what have they done”. You explain what you “can do” now but I asked what the UK or whoever “we” actually is has done to protect, support. Brexit is years ago therefore can, could, would, should is not enough IMO. However that is all what Mrs Ghani appearently said in the interview.

I know your predictions about the EUs state and its destiny because you have been repeating them for a couple of years (at least three IIRC). That is however not the issue here, my questions were about what was done and all I hear is distraction and EU bashing.

BTW have you read any post from me where I do any such predictions about the UKs future or where I keep bashing and humiliating the UK for being X or Y or failing in doing Z?

Would you like to know why not?

I hope that this does not sound offensive but I’m afraid you’re actually serious about all your statements.

Here you are, it’s in your Lisbon Treaty

Section 3

Article 3

(ex Article 2 TEU)

  1. The Union’s aim is to promote peace, its values and the well-being of its peoples.

Your casual racism has been noted several times

You don’t have a centralised treasury and you can’t control taxation levels, while printing billions and billions of Euros through QE.

How will the Eurozone reclaim control ?

I am not aware of any racism and none is intended. However the last time you mentioned that I asked for an example and asked what was racist. I failed to see an example in your response, maybe the other readers in this thread can help out?

Honestly, should there be casual racism in my posts then the reason would be my poor English and not my intention or my attitude.

I do not know how you see it but I see a huge difference between

“The EU commission claim they are responsible for peace in the member states”

and

“The Union’s aim is to promote peace,”

In the first expression it is about the EU commission whereas in the second it is the Union. Two different actors.

If there is no semantical difference then it becomes more and more obvious that I do not understand the English language at all. In that case I will have to quit posting here immediately. So I need to find out which is true.

Tell me how the EU commission is promoting peace in France ?

I did not know that France is at war with some nation. The EU commisison will now probably speed up the creation of the “EU army” and will then deploy it to France to end the war there.
The death of the poor 17 yr old is what, six or seven days ago, maybe the commission needs one or two days more to deploy the EU army to France.

Is this response to your convenience or your expectation?

France is at war with itself

The EU army will be the biggest joke ever. Same with the EU Commission - every time there is conflict, they run away and hide, just like with Bosnia and now with Ukraine.

Every time there is conflict in Europe, its the UK that has to bail you all out.

I repeat my note that your double standards want intervention in France but would bleat like a baby if the EU had intervened in the UK. Pick one - no intervention anywhere or happy if the EU had walked into London back in 2011.

No it is not. Like your prediction that Macron will resign in days (obvs utter rubbish) now you claim that some urban rioting is the same as civil war. You are delusional. The UK was closer to civil war back during the miners’ strikes. No knowledge and so very bad at predictions. You should stop watching GB News for your opinions.

Is this the beginning of a “rejoining”?

Today the Guardian and the Independent report about an “agreed deal” with the EU to become an associated member of the “Horizon Europe” science programme.

At the same time R. Sunak will “do anything necessary” to “stop the boats” and S. Braverman “cannot rule out anything”, such as exiting the EHCR, to achieve that.
Of course leaving the EHCR prevents EU membership so I guess there is nothing to worry about.

It will not be rejoining, that is off the cards for many, many years. The hurdle to rejoin is now too great. So the Brexit fans can sleep easy.
However, it does appear to be the end of the childish anti-EU behaviour from so many politicians. The right wing press and the politicians without any decent policies to talk about will never stop EU bashing. But they will increasingly be ignored.
It also demonstrates what I forecast a few months ago - that over time the UK will move closer to the EU, find more areas for cooperation, join more EU programmes and initiatives, remove barriers to working together and trading together. Common sense really.

No double standards here - no civil war in the UK either and we aren’t in the EU. I’ve quoted the section from the Lisbon treaty which explains to you how your own treaty works but again, you ignore it.

Macron will be out you just watch.

Socialism eh ?

It’s far bigger than rejoining the EU. It’s about globalism.

We don’t need to leave the ECHR either we just need to ignore it.

By the way, the EU has not signed up to the ECHR.

Although I agree with what you wrote I am curious to learn how the UK will try to remove trade barriers with the EU. That might be an action for the future. IMO first the new “fantastic” membership of CCTPP has to prove that it will gain something for the UK.

Good luck for that then…

That will probably help a lot in becoming a honorable and respected (trading) partner I am sure. Hopefully your unelected Lords will not defeat the plan to ignore the EHCR.

DRUM ROLL: here I agree with you, imagine that.

Surely you know that all EU members have signed up to the EHCR and negotiations between the EU and EHCR are ongoing.

Another completely wrong prediction. Like the one you made about a Tory MP rebellion a few weeks ago. I suggest you put a gullibility filter on when watching GB News or reading your Reform party newsletter.
But, of course, also a distraction from the car crash that is Brexit. Food prices are set to go up again due to the UK finally getting round to doing fresh produce checks on imports. Expect some more empty supermarket shelves. I even saw a Tory MP suggesting the only sensible way forward is to rejoin the single market, I guess EEA / Norway type arrangement. Gosh, light at the end of this dismal tunnel of no benefits.

Oh dear yet another argument in the making:
