All foods have ingredients written on them, if you want to know how much fruit is in them all you need to do is look at the ingredients.
Sounds like being a jobsworth to me.

Hi
None Tariff Barriers, everybody uses them, everyone is looking for an edge, except our bunch who are more interested in fighting amongst themselves.
It is tit for tat, we should have had one ready, something like cheese for example, ready just to dissuade them.
You out of step with the thinking on high sugar, high fat, high salt foods. Even the food industry wants to mandate lower sugar / fat / salt foods. I’m sure that you are super diligent about reading each food product label and make healthy informed choices. Well done you. But, guess what, its not about you. It primarily about people who need to make price or convenience based decisions.
The EU is not a country.
See answers in bold.
You have to register in each country you export to anyway. Same for USA etc.
Another nonsense barrier to trade.
Why are you so triggered over marmalade ?
I don’t care about EU directives - we aren’t in the EU.
If the EU want people to pay more for jams and marmalade etc then so be it. France is a big supplier of jam and marmalade besides the UK.
A good solution to this would be for the UK to grow its own fruit for preserves and have it subsidised but the Government. Its a win for everyone.
I’ve got absolutely no problem with people being made aware of things that are bad for them, especially things that are aimed at kids like breakfast cereals, I think the traffic light system is a good idea and should be on all foods, what has that got to do with changing the name of jam.
Have you seen all the lunch foods aimed at kids, with processed cheese in them. If they said that they couldn’t be classed as cheese I’d say they had a point, but blooming jam.
And what about fruit juices and more of them would be sold than blooming jam:
Yes, as predicted you have convinced yourself that you are correct. Well done.
No-one is laughing at you. Honest.
Neither is Australia but we take a great deal of notice of EU directives because they tend to become the standard which companies follow to broaden their market. To think otherwise is just stupid.
We aren’t a Muslim country either but even Vegimite has Halal certification because Indonesia and the middle east is likewise a potentially enormous market.
You can understand why Britain is no longer a manufacturing powerhouse with such short sighted attitudes like yours.
I am sure that there are a lot of people in the UK who care about the regulations of other markets which they intend to sell their products to. That will be producers and their employees probably.
I am correct.
We aren’t a manufacturing powerhouse because of EU grants. Australia has no excuse.
Of course, it is always someone else’s fault.
It’s true though.
Oh that reminds me of German politics
I know you know you are. There, there. It will be alright. No-one is going to take your precious self-convictions away from you.
