Brexit benefits - where are they?

First your revising history and now your inventing the future.

You forget the massive rise in support for the Brexit Party during the EU Parliamentary elections. Farage went from zero to the biggest single party in the EU Parliament within a year.

Farage would win the next election hands down. Both Labour and the Conservatives have morphed into the same party and conservative voters, Brexiteers and those rejecting net-zero, open borders and removal of rights will select a new party. The push for government reform has already happened in Italy and its started in France, Austria and Germany.

Remainers like you said this in 2016, you were wrong then and your wrong now

The never elected to Westminster Farage? I think you’re rose tinting his popularity. He was a one trick pony and boy was it a trick. But no leader, never ever an MP let alone a PM. As I said, even though there is a loud minority whose adoration of the lying Farage the Reform party is mere sideline noise.

4 million votes in the 2017 GE.

Brexit Party the biggest single party in the European Party Elections and Johnson only won his massive majority because Farage stood his candidates down. And Carswell was a UKIP MP for Clacton

Stop making things up.

I thought we were talking about Farage. And clearly the Brexit party can’t exist anymore. As you keep telling everyone, that moment has come and gone. So Farage, who was never elected, has no platform. Worse, everyone else has a platform against Farage and his proven lies and empty promises. None of his Brexit promises have been realised. He is going to such an easy target of anger and ridicule in a future general election.
I can see you love the man but he’ll ripped apart if he tries to get into mainstream politics. Very much yesterday’s man. Perhaps that is another Brexit benefit.

Farage was elected he was elected the leader of the Brexit Party and UKIP. He was also elected as an MEP of the European Parliament.

None of Farages Brexit promises have been realised because the conservatives never implemented them. Thats the problem (not that you would realise).

You’re in for a shock next year. Already Farage has mentioned he will be returning to mainstream politics and this time, he won’t stand down candidates. The only yesterdays man here is you.

A post on my local facebook page. Bruce quick warn him about Brexit he obviously hasn’t heard about it:

Hi there we are a family of 3 including my wife and newborn. Moving to Devon from Australia mid August as I have been offered a role at Exeter uni. We have looked for a rental property on Zoopla, Rightmove and Bradley’s etc. We have also had a chat with a few individuals regarding properties they are loooing to let out, but nothing solid so far. We are looking for a 2 bedroom apartment/house in Exmouth, Preferably modern and with a car space. Budget is 900 PCM. We are very clean, organised and punctual.

Some folks just need a Lectern!!!.

What do you think how will they try to achieve that softening?

After Johnson and then Liz Truss as PM I thought that everything is possible in the UK. But the idea of N. Farage as PM is too much, even for British humour I would think.

May I suggest Rickie Gervais as PM then? We all could have a good laugh with him I am sure. Ok if I remember correctly there are some around here who do not like him at all.

Why would I need to warn them about Brexit? My niece worked as a nurse in the UK since Brexit, did very nicely out of it thank you. The UK/Australia FTA makes it easier for young people to work in the other country and that comes into force TODAY.

Labour would have the UK join the single market which is how they would “soften Brexit”, except it could never happen because we would have to effectively leave CPTPP and other trade deals to do it, which would crucify Labour and would be refused by the EU anyway.

Nigel Farage on GBNews has higher viewer ratings of any other UK news channel including Sky and the BBC.

Why do you think that is ?

I have my doubts that the UK can soften Brexit by its own power. This may be splitting hair(s) but I guess that it can only try to negotiate with the EU about changes of the relations if anything.

Especially something like joining the SM or CU cannot be done by the UK. That is why I asked which realistic means there could be to soften Brexit.

I am too polite to give an honest guess (on a public forum) why I think that it is like that… :innocent:

We already have a soft Brexit. We have left the EU but are still under its rules.

Labour have no idea how the world works, thats why they have no plan, no costings and no manifesto. All they have is rhetorical nonsense about their fantasies because they know that under scrutiny none of it stacks up. So far Starmer has u-turned on everything he has pledged.

The thing here is: he promised things that he could put to action as he was/is no MP and had/has no power what so ever.
What are someones promisses worth if he/she can never fulfil them?

Yes that is true but the question was/is how to soften an already existing Brexit.

Farage made a deal with Boris Johnson during the 2019 election in return for his candidates standing down. Johnson then went back on the deal.

Ask Labour, like I said they have no clue about any of this.

Just one example
