Just curious as to what this has to do with being a Brexit benefit? It looks like London’s position hasn’t changed from before Brexit when it was second and it is still second.

On the other hand Sydney has risen 10 places and Singapore has risen three so are you claiming these as the beneficiaries of Brexit?

This hasn’t got anything to do with Brexit benefits either, did you pick Maree up on her post 419 and it was just to enlighten her:

Maree

Just as predicted……

https://www.itv.com/news/2022-11-14/paris-overtakes-london-to-become-europes-biggest-stock-market-for-first-time

Your post wasn’t on the same topic. she was talking about the value of the stock market in Paris and London, you were talking about financial centres and their rankings not even remotely the same thing.

London stock exchange by capitalisation is tenth on the world stage.

Did you pick Maree up for being off topic?

Why was her post off topic?

She was comparing a stock exchange in the EU with one outside the EU after Brexit. Isn’t that what this topic is about? That’s my last comment on this spat.

The title is 'Brexit benefits - where are they?

Never wanted any benefits, just a bit of peace and quiet.

And do you have it ?

I have to say I miss Brexit and its on going narrative. It was quite a joy each day to read about the latest twist and turn in the story especially as it wasn’t our government making such a spectacle of itself for a change.

Mind you Liz Truss was a bonus joy too but only far too briefly. Her “cheese” speech is up there with Tony Abbott’s “Suppository of Wisdom”

To a degree, like any eruption, the aftershocks are getting less frequent

I’m very sick of Brexit fans trying to portray any criticism of Brexit as a demonstration that such critics are trying to do down the UK. In this instance a fan of Brexit mocks that a person who dislikes Brexit is going to be disappointed that London continues to do well as a global financial centre. Thus, in the mind of this Brexit fan, those who are against Brexit are going to prefer that London fails as a global financial centre.
This is neither a benefit of Brexit nor a correct interpretation of what anti-Brexit thinkers are saying. But to the Brexit fan, to be against Brexit is to be against the UK. Dismal and very simplistic and plain wrong.

It’s annoying and stupid but it’s an easier option than desperately searching about for Brexit benefits .

What has this got to do with ‘Brexit benefits’ as per the title of the thread?

I’ve got an idea, why don’t you start up a thread of Brexit disadvantages instead of Remainers posting on this thread which is supposed to be about ‘Brexit benefits’.
