Boris Johnson resigns as MP

That’s utter rubbish.
The man is an inveterate liar, and deceitful. He had it coming .

If you think that’s okay, you’re part of the problem

well obviously i dont have to tell you where to go, you certainly dont live much north of watford… she wrecked all heavy industry and millions of jobs connected to industry…in our parents time we lead the world in most stuff then Thatcher who came from north sold the majority of industry, concentrating on the money market making her cohorts millions and wrecking families in the north, she was a witch and should tak her place on bonfires on the fifth of november THATCHERS DAY…so apart from killing industry did you know her claim to fame??? she was part of the team that invented Mr Softee ice cream…

Hi

Things are not very simple when it comes to Boris.

Yes he is hated by some and yes they were out to get him.

His arrogance and his lies made that very easy for them.

There was absolutely no need to stitch him up, or falsify evidence, the evidence was and still is on CCTV and electronic records of who was where and when.

Boris and his allies like JRM, are best shutting up.

Partygate is only about Downing Street, it does not include Chequers, which has very detailed CCTV

There could be an investigation into that.

Parliament could decide to release all the CCTV evidence into the Public Domain.

They also have a Nuclear Option of releasing all the Close Protection Squad deails of who was where and when.

I was born and bred in the north east where at one point there were 16 shipyards. All gone thanks to the socialists. We never lead anything in the 70s under your socialists, everyone was on strike, on a 3 day week or out of work completely.

Boris Johnson, Theresa May, Rishi Sunak all Social Democrats in my opinion. Boris resigning was the only thing he could do at the time. His failure to implement Brexit was far more deserving of his resignation than anything else he’s done.

Agree Swimmy, all these investigations are a waste of public money. The tax payer is funding the permanent removal of Johnson so it favours Labour at the next election, they know they can’t win against him.

The tax payer should be funding more police and securing our borders. In the middle of a cost of living crisis this stupidity about eating cake should be the last thing on anyones list.

There will be an interesting few months ahead for the Tory party and what Johnson does next. Three by-elections may well end up being quite damning for the tories. And on top of these, Sunak needs to demonstrate some action or initiative that he can stand beside and use a platform for the next general election.
Meanwhile, Johnson support from tory MP’s appears to be very much on the wane. Although I suspect the support from Tory party members will remain quite strong. There would be quite a constituencies where the local tory party would be delighted to have Johnson as a candidate at the next general election. Or would Johnson fancy that his return to power would come from another vehicle? Or would be prefer just to mint it for a few years on the speaker circuit?.

Mainland Europe adopted that model and executed it better than us.

There is a better way to get Labour more public respect, get Starmer to Lie more blatantly :icon_wink:

Given the expense of running the Moated Manor and Carrie, I’d say BJ will go for minting it … :037:

With all this going on, Labour should be way out it front in the polls. Flip-flop Starmer can’t manage more than 16% (and falling). Remember 50% of the electorate are women and Starmer doesn’t know what one is. He saluted the far left marxist cult BLM with Raynor and broke every pledge he’s made. A supporter of Corbyn (with the ginger growler) and the person who voted against a democratic decision by the public in 2016 every chance he had.

The electorate, especially the red wall won’t forget.

I think you should start another thread called “Sunak & Starmer (forget about the blond idiot)”. We could discuss the pros and cons of the current two major parties. We could also work out which bit of history you meant by ‘the blond idiot’ - the soon to be forgotten Johnson or the pretty much and thankfully forgotten Truss.
But this thread is about (the clue is in the thread title) Johnson running away from his comeuppance.

The pro’s and cons of labour vs the conservatives are the same.

Johnson hasn’t run away from his comeuppance either, its only just beginning.

Thank you for the clarification and for giving me the opportunity to correct my erroneous earlier post. By ‘running away from his comeuppance’ I of course meant:
The maligned and unfairly accused great victor of so many honest public votes has been vindicated in his repeated confirmation that he has done no wrong, lied no lies and behaved with modesty and decorum at all times. This witch-hunt by woke lefties in the previously magnificent Conservative & Unionist party is driven by the envy of Johnson’s many great successes and not because his actions, nor his spending, not him overseeing the largest swindle of the public purse by his mates, nor his deceptions, nor his corrupt honours list nor that he & his immediate replacement have made the Tories un-electable for years to come. Not at all. Rather his standing up to these faceless powers by standing down put in a certain position of great victory so very soon. Or possibly a slot on GBNews.
But I’m sure everyone read between the lines of my earlier post and knew that was what I meant.

It was a piece of cake.

The government has confirmed a by-election in Uxbridge and South Ruislip, the former constituency of ex-prime minister Boris Johnson.

Business in the House of Commons began earlier with government Chief Whip Simon Hart issuing the writs for the vacant seat.

The by-election will take place between 21 and 27 working days from the issuing of the writ.

Some Labour MPs in the chamber cheered when Mr Hart announced the by-election.

Although an official date has not yet been fixed, the timing of the announcement means the by-election is set to take place between 13 and 21 July.

Bye bye, BJ, bye bye … :089:

“Laws? Where we’re going we don’t need laws.”

I can’t believe anyone can defend this man, he’s a compulsive liar that will lie to anyone and everyone, yet people still try to defend him, he stood there almost every night telling us to follow the rules whilst pleasing himself as to what he did, it was only a bit of cake…really!, whilst some were saying goodbye to their loved ones over a computer screen, or via a nurse because they couldn’t say goodbye themselves because they were following the rules, he was partying with his cronies because the rules don’t apply to him, I really hope we’re shot of this poor excuse of a human being, and the sooner this government is out, the better…

The government is reportedly withholding the documents due to the review by the intelligence services who advise that they should only be read by those with the highest level of security clearance.

And they need to be “appropriately stored” if they are given back to Johnson, reports The Times.

Notes that Mr Johnson has been making while Prime Minister are at the centre of the dispute between the government and the Covid public inquiry with it being revealed that he was keeping a detailed diary of his time in Downing Street for a possible memoir.

Well, BJ is, allegedly, getting £1,000,000 for his DM column so how much for a “memoir” …
