Boris Johnson cheered as he arrives at St. Paul's for platinum jubilee event

Just to set the balance, there were also cheers for the PM at his arrival for the service.

I think your bias shows in the title you chose for your thread!

“Cheers” for Boris Johnson? Really?

Yes, of course there were some, and some boos, we all know he’s marmite!

But the boos don’t get a mention in your thread title

Maybe I’ll use my mighty TL3 powers to change it! …… (not really, just teasing, I wouldn’t dream of it )

I f I were there I’d be a booer, of course :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::rofl:

And of course the Johnson fan boys and fan girls will be cheering. It doesn’t seem to matter to him how vile his behaviour or how he’s disgraced his country, they’ll continue with there shameful support

A lot of people there were probably just cheering anything that walked in !

And there will be people from other countries who may not be up on his disgrace and just be cheering him as the Brit PM ( which he doesn’t deserve)

And maybe a it of support over supporting Ukraine? ( which he also doesn’t deserve)

But well done to the booers, you did great. I hope he heard and it hurt

We should do that everywhere he goes.

If he ever shows his slimy face around here, I’ll be there booing and heckling

And if he accepts honours when he retires I’ll be taking to the streets :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Might I suggest that you read a thread started by Omah? No mention of any cheers in his thread title.

Mine is just a tongue in cheek thread to redress the balance

Oh, I see, I am sorry, I hadn’t seen that

My humble apologies, I do tend to go of on one a bit quick!:see_no_evil::disappointed_relieved:

Hoorah for the booers and the cheerers, we’re Brits after all, it’s what we do

Balance ? Here on the forum?

In the interests of balance, I’ll post the same on this thread as I posted on the other thread about the same event!

How very rude some folks are.
This Service was not about Johnson or any of the guests attending - I think it was most unseemly to divert attention from the main purpose of the event with boos or cheers for the people attending the service.
They have 365 days a year, every year to express praise or disapproval of politicians - why sully the Queen’s Unique Celebration by “making it about Johnson” - a dignified silence when he arrived would have sufficed.

Agreed !

The haters never miss a chance for a cheap shot.

Were the folk cheering` “the haters”, though? I think not.

I think the “boo-ers” were “the haters” of Johnson and “the Cheerers” were “the lovers” of Johnson - both inappropriate gestures for the Queen’s Jubillee Service, in my opinion.

A lot of those booers were put there deliberately, it was staged. I bet most of the cheers were people cheering the celebrations not being party political.

As usual, the left can’t resist the opportunity of a stupid stunt.

If anyone was rude, it was Johnson for showing up

He had forfeited all right to a place at the celebrations and should have done the decent thing and resigned before it.

He lied both to the Queen and Parliament and think on those parties in Downing St while the Queen sat alone mourning her husband. They were rather rude, weren’t they?

Sometimes you can’t let fear of being rude and bad mannered stop you from doing what was right. Some things are more important than being polite

So I think the booers did a good job of making clear how a lot of people feel about Johnson and how offensive it was for him to attend the celebrations as PM

And I think he should be booed every time he shows his face in public as PM

I’ll certainly be doing some heckling and booing if he comes down this way :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Well said … the event was a celebration … it was for the Queen.
Not political, not an excuse to rabble rouse or mar her once in a lifetime achievement.
