I couldn’t believe how it nourished the skin and more or less instantly making it feel softer.
I had heard quite a bit about it on adverts, I thought it was just an advertising gimmick, you know what some of these adverts are like…some never do the job, but this product certainly does what it says.
Many years ago there was a review of body cream on a TV programme…can’t remember which one…but they concluded that for all the money you can spend on creams, the one which came out best was ordinary nivea. Personally I use Vitamin E Skin Care from Superdrug and a Vitamin E Moisturiser for facial use. Inexpensive, but feel great.
I use nivea on my face. No body cream but I don’t get dry skin. It’s more to do with what you do when you wash and the products you use. Even your washing powder. Plain soap can be very drying and some of the body washes are also irritating to the skin. The hand soap you use can dry out the skin. I used to need hand cream in days gone by when we used to work more with paper. Aveeno is a very good hand cream.
Aveeno is also a very good body cream as well, I got the one for sensitive skin, I’m amazed at how soft it has made my skin…it takes a lot to amaze me, I’m not easily impressed by some of these skin products.
I also paid £50 for under the eye product, absolutely brilliant, leaves no residue around the eye either…
I have really, really, dry skin both on my body and my face.
I’ve always used Nivea extra dry lotion, and the more recent one supposedly lasts for 48 hrs. But it doesn’t, well not on me anyway.
By evening my face needs a little, but my body needs a lot.
Thanks Pauline, I’ll look into that. Oooh, just spotted it says ‘oat complex’.
Once when I burnt my arms in the sun whilst gardening, I put a poultice type of thing made of oats on them, which is supposedly good for sunburn. They felt wonderful after I washed it off!
I might give that a bash… maybe I’ll get Miss Madam to get me some for Xmas
Over ten years ago my hands just suddenly broke out in a very itchy rash…It got so bad that at night I would have to bandage my hands up as was literally scratching in my sleep. Had Cortisone creams/ointments of various makes, but it continued for approx. a year.
One time the female Doctor issued a prescription for this Aveena type, was for Dry Skin with the Oatmeal to help soothe…It was at a point of calming, but to get it on a prescription when I realised more about it, was surprising…
I have used it for body and face ever since. It has never caused anything but good for my skin…Had never had the contact Dermatitis again return…luckily I know to not get chemicals on my hands …
