Thanks Myrtle, on the one hand it’s nice to see a recovery, but if they send him home I think the worst is to come…
A very worrying time for you both Bob, good to hear he has improved a little. He is in the right place at the moment, they will look after him and they won’t allow him home if they think he won’t be able to cope.
Thinking of you all x
With the right care diabetes problems can be sorted very quickly, so maybe that contributed to his improvement. Just remind Mrs Fox that, if he manages to pull though all his problems he may need her help… so she must also look after herself.
I hope things go well today.![]()
Hope you all are coping Bob, no words really is there? As I said previously old age is very cruel.
She’s too emotionally involved to listen to anything I say Twink.
Thanks Summer, life goes on…
Thanks Mags, I’m hoping they keep him in a bit longer because Mrs Fox has been run ragged just lately…
Another early morning scramble when a six am the hospital rang and said he was having a bad time so I rushed Mrs Fox through but I returned home for my Tuesday morning run…
I know what you’re thinking, but it’s my way of coping.
Just rang up the hospital now and he’s still hanging on so I’m off to see him…
I think it’s good to stick to routine where possible Bob. Hope things are improving for you all. Take care.
It’s such a worrying time for you all Bob ![]()
Spent all day yesterday at the hospital again with Mrs Fox, no sign of improvement so Doctors decided to remove IV and stop taking stats every hour and just make him comfortable. Mrs Fox stayed the night. I’ve just called in now and he’s still holding on…So I’m just off for another day down the hospital…Thanks for support Mags and Val.
I am glad you can be there for Mrs Fox, because, if things don’t go well, she will need your support.
Cheers Twink, yes she doesn’t know whether she’s on this Earth or Fuller’s…Just off now…x
A very sad and difficult time foxy.
You must both be exhausted, physically and mentally. X
Thanks Mups, much appreciated…
Slept with my phone at the bedside in case Mrs Fox needed me when the inevitable happens. I’ve been trying to keep things ticking over here, canceling appointments and informing relatives. The washer is whirring away behind me as I type, I was running out of socks and stuff so I’ve put a white wash on…I’ve watched Mrs Fox do it a thousand times, how hard can it be?
The Father in Laws slow decline continues with frequent bursts of panic, flailing arm around and moaning. It’s so hard to see him like this. Off now to spend another day by his bedside with Mrs Fox…
Oh Bob, how sad for you and your wife to see him like that… especially when they can do nothing to help him. I don’t know if it will help, but sometimes they suggest talking to very sick people can help them. Nothing serious, just about happy memories or loving moments he shared with his daughter.
Give this to your wife from me … she is going to need a few over the coming days.
Thanks Twink, unlimited hugs are available for Mrs Fox on demand…
Father in Law passed away last night at eight fifteen…
I would just like to thank everyone who has expressed messages of support.
I am glad to be a member of this forum with such wonderful caring members…
Bob I suspect you and your wife won’t see it like this but, in you Father in Law’s mind, I am sure that he would have viewed his passing as a merciful release.
Condolences and hugs to both of you.:hug:
Sending my deepest sympathy to you both
So sorry Bob, sincere condolences to you and your family.
