Whatever You do Kid …DO NOT go on skype with a strange Woman…'Er indoors would go doolally…trust me
Good advice from May … take heed OGF
agreed then - and she is strange - she has 10 men in her cellar - perhaps she’s practicing her amateur psychology on them?
Good morning Guys and Guy-es’s, some interesting comments on me bits. I’ve not got Skype Twink but I appreciate your offer and perhaps sometime in the future when I’m in your neck of the woods we could meet up for a cuppa and a nag, I’ll give you a shout. It might be kind of interesting to see what goes on in your cellar…
I hope I haven’t dramatised my plight too much, It’s perhaps not as bad as I have made out, I love life and even when I can’t run I manage to redirect my energies into other things so it’s not so much a psychologist I need, more like a good physio as Gumbud suggests.
I can’t live without Mrs Fox, but I find it difficult some times living with her. Fortunately, the good times far outweigh the bad ones, and if she starts getting on my case I go out for a run, or at the moment, a walk.
Robert, I’m a bit confused with your post, could you possibly enlighten me of it’s relevance? I suspect it’s from some major classical work by a famous writer or poet…(I’m probably going to regret asking) Derrrrrrr…
Thanks May and Myrtle, do I note a bit of experience in your words of wisdom? A bloke would have to be crazy not to treat either of you with the utmost respect and appreciation. I know I would…Proper Ladies…
Which brings me back to this mornings effort.
Managed to get out early [just getting light] and determined not to run. By the time I left the wood and popped out onto the main road the sun had just made an appearance. I could still feel a dull ache in my buttock but after three miles was pleased to find that it had not got any worse, in fact it seemed a little easier. Still walking as I progressed onto the lane my hands were getting cold [could have done with a jog to warm them up] but I resisted the urge.
After not seeing a soul along the main road I was surprised to see so many people on the lane, mostly dog walkers, but a horse and rider came trotting by. With the sun on my back and not a breath of wind I made my way along the lane, sorting out my head and kicking through the fallen leaves, but happy to be out in the country again. Sometimes it’s nice to look around, take my time and listen to the stillness of nature.
Just dropped Mrs Fox and a friend off in Lincoln for three days of shopping, whoopee…
House to myself for three days, look out forum Bob’s here…
I’m afraid that me Back/Buttock is no better, in fact it’s worse. Went out for a five mile walk yesterday morning and I even put some trousers on instead of shorts, but it made no difference. Looks like I am going to have to knock running/walking on the head for the rest of this year. Although I’ll give it a day or two to settle down and try a bit of cycling and swimming, maybe get a young lady in while Mrs Fox is away to try a different kind of exercise…Alright settle down, Only joking…
Went to the cinema again yesterday to see ‘Sully, Miracle on the Hudson’ with Tom Hanks about the airline pilot who landed his plane on the Hudson River in 2009 and everyone survived.
One of the best films I’ve seen all year, strongly recommended.
Visited the Dentist on Monday so he could finish off working on the tooth where the Abscess was. ‘Root Canal Work’ I believe, he spent about three quarters of an hour drilling and filling, but after about a litre of local anesthetic [that’s what it seemed like] pumped into my gum I didn’t feel a thing. So after an x-ray and the thumbs up he sent me home after removing £54 out of my wallet. Seems alright now the anesthetic has worn off. Although bank account feels faint!
Right! just off down to the Tesco to get a couple of packs of Fosters in and then ring round some mates for tonight’s party…See you later…
Lincoln is somewhere I’ve never been … it’s on my to do list
Have fun whilst Mrs Fox is away but be sure to tidy up and remove any evidence before she returns
It will be a pity if you don’t meet your target of 1,000 miles this year
glad you’ve finally taken our advice about controlling your exercise - knocking that into you was like your dentist knocking out that root canal! but we gave it free!
Yes, thanks for the advice Gumbud, It was inevitable…Pity you couldn’t have drilled out the root for free also, I could have bought more lager…
Beautiful place is Lincoln Myrtle, specially at this time of year when all the Christmas lights are up. Although I’m not religious, the Cathedral is wonderful and so peaceful once inside.
Yer, it looks like I won’t make the thousand miles this year after all. Ah well, maybe next year…
Well the party didn’t come off did it. I rang round all me old mates and two have passed away, ones in hospital after a heart attack, another one’s got dementure and doesn’t know whether he’s on this earth or fullers, and the last one is cruising round the Med.
Anyone want to buy a crate of Foster’s?
the one with dementure ?? - does that mean he’s de-commissioned his dentures??
My last day of peace and freedom, I’ve just received my orders off Mrs Fox to go and collect her from Lincoln this afternoon by TEXT. By TEXT for God’s sake, well I rang her back immediately to give her a piece of my mind. Well we agreed a meeting place anyway…And I said ‘Yes my sweet I’ve missed you and I’ll be there’ Something about Poultry and getting Pecked…
I’m sat here freezing my bits off. I can’t put the heating on, I had to cement the floor where a water pipe passes underground and I don’t want the cement to dry too quick or it will crack. Better to do it while Mrs Fox is not here to walk all over it. I did it yesterday and it was so cold in bed last night, or at least for the ten seconds it took me to fall to sleep. Could have done with one of you forum girls to cuddle up to…
No running or walking recently but I haven’t been idle [well not all of the time] apart from the 40 press up’s and 100 step up’s I do daily I decided to go and do fifteen minutes on the exercise bike - It’s been a while - It’s in the summer house at the bottom of the garden and I could hardly walk back to the house…Talk about ‘Rubber Legs’…
I think I went a bit too fast, so this morning I took it steadier and managed half an hour…Still had trouble standing when I dismounted but felt really good and it doesn’t seem to be bothering the back too much.
Going now to finish putting up the outside Christmas lights, balancing on a forty foot high ladder [It’s only a bungalow but it seems that high when you look down] will be fun, but it would be nice to have them on when Mrs Fox returns home…I’m just too good to her…:-D:-D:-D
oh how the mighty fall - beware ladies of fallen warriors!= with skinny legs!
ps: still got ya bits Bob?
D’ya wanna see a photo of them Gummy?..
what ya legs or ya bits??
Did I tell you about the time nurse Gillian & I had terrible face ache one monday. It wasn’t until that evening we realised that we were wearing each others false teeth.
How we laughed, it’s easily done when you put both sets in the same glass of water over night.
0h FGS RJ you are getting disgusting in your dotage - your dis is positively ‘gusting’ and your dot definitely ‘aging’ !
Me skinny legs of course Gummy…They might be skinny, but they are a nice shape don’t you think?..:-D:-D:-D
So Mrs Fox has gone with her Dad to visit her Mum’s grave and spruce it up for Christmas, so it gives me a good opportunity to catch up on Bob’s Bits.
Walking was a struggle on Sunday but I managed to get round a five miler, I paid for it after though and had to resort to the Ibuprofen. This morning however, something felt different and I didn’t feel the usual discomfort at the start so it turned out to be quite a swift five miles. Fingers crossed it might be the light at the end of the tunnel…
I’ve had plenty to do to keep me occupied though, putting up the Christmas Tree and all the decorations outside while Mrs Fox went out for lunch yesterday with a friend. I provided the taxi service, which reminds me…I could hardly see out of the windows it was so dirty so that’s something I could be doing this afternoon.
Our friends and neighbours have just got the results back from his recent biopsy…Not good news i’m afraid, it looks like he has got Prostrate Cancer. I do believe they have caught it early so he’s got a good prognosis, better spend some time with them though to stop him getting depressed.
This is what the Christmas Tree looks like…

oh that’s what ya bits look like!!
No, like this Gummy, they have taken me around the world twice, and they’re not finished yet…If I could just get rid of this trapped nerve…
don’t try any competition work OGF - I’d like to get a second opinion from Mrs Fox?
