Bob's Bits.

beware bob exercise can sometime lead to abscesses!

http://www.microbiologynutsandbolts.co.uk/the-bug-blog/maybe-exercise-isnt-always-good-for-you

I told you not to overdo it!!

Exercise should not planned, it should be routine, and if possible, rewarded, financially.

Very informative piece Gumbud, thanks for bringing it to my attention. In this instance the dentist believes it was the dead root of a tooth that had caused the abscess, my face had always been tender down that side so it must have been dead or dying for quite some time. The good news is, the pain is diminishing every day and with the help of the Amoxicillin should be all gone by Sunday…The planned come back!

I disagree Spitty, exercise should not be financially rewarding or it makes it a job and loses it’s magic. I find, running in particular, takes me away from the shackles of the establishment and allows my mind to roam free. While I jog down that long road to infinity I have complete control of my destiny with nobody telling me what to do or how to do it…I am King!

Bob you may be King, but that doesn’t mean you wont get into trouble if you do too much too soon.:-p Just ask Mrs Fox if you don’t believe me!

Twink, I will be very sensible on Sunday’s forthcoming event…Yipeeeeeeeeeeee :-D:-D:-D

Well I expect a report on Monday, assuring us that you are well!
Good luck!

I hate teeth for giving me grief
All of my days
My expensive dentures
Similarly observed
Fit where they touch
That’s not saying much
IF I had my life again
I’d not have such pain
I’d take more care
whilst they’re still rooted there
and take out a plan
to keep costs down.

I have complete control of my destiny with nobody telling me what to do or how to do it…I am King!

really what about Mrs King?

Don’t worry I have already warned him of the consequences if he wife finds out he is doing too much!

i would assume if he was doing too much his wife would simple say STOP IT BOB!

See you back at the ranch Gumboy.

Run Twink, we have been raided by the dark side from Gumbud’s Leisurely Scribbles…Save yourself…
They’ve already taken Mrs Fox…

Seriously though, Nice Poem Robert I think it sums up my plight beautifully, very nice to see you here.

A progress will be submitted following tomorrow’s attempt Twink.

The OGF Express set off on time this morning, it was around 7:30 as I stepped outside for my first run since November 1st, and was surprised how mild it was. With just a slight nagging in my left buttock it felt good to be out and on my toes again. By the time I had run down the street, over the railway bridge and across the field the nagging had all but disappeared and I slipped into a comfy long distance pace. The path through the woods was strewn with leaves but dry, and it wasn’t long before I joined a good tarmac cycle track which took me to the corner of the main road.

Traffic was light this morning, such a contrast to a weekday when the queue of traffic would stretch almost half a mile down the road to the roundabout. I dug in for the mile alongside the quiet main road passing giant conker trees where I came as a boy to find that special one that would win the championship, alas, I never did find it. Strange how memories come flooding back when passing places that had some significance all those years ago.

I was soon turning on to the side road which would take me down to the lane, with houses and bungalows on either side, the lane was a popular place for dog walkers and sometimes over enthusiastic animals would give chase and jump up. They were usually happy playful animals but it would mean all my kit would have to be prematurely washed to remove the daubed mud, especially at this time of year. This morning I was lucky, just one or two walkers in the distance with well behaved dogs, we exchanged ‘good mornings’ and with tiring legs I pushed on away from the houses and on to the lonely stretch of lane.

I expected large deep puddles that stretched all the way across the narrow track, but with just the odd muddy section it wasn’t too bad. I could feel my left hip beginning to complain and a tightness in my buttock, but with only half a mile to go I carried on and just kept the pace as steady as I could while still looking like a runner. I must have sped up though on that last hundred yards because as I entered the drive I was well out of breath and staggering a little, but feeling content after completing my first non stop five mile run for almost a month. It felt good, now lets see what happens to the Hip/Buttock, and will it recover enough to do it again on Tuesday.

981.3 miles covered this year, 18.7 miles remaining to make it one thousand…

Well done OGF

Well done Bob, after 4 weeks without a run you have done really well.
That abscess on your tooth won’t have helped your fitness, but I am sure you will reach the 1000 mile target before the end of the year… just don’t push yourself too soon.

Well done OGF, I hope you reach your target
