Bob's Bits.

Cheers Gumbud, but I’m not ready to hang up them running shoes just yet…
I donned my Helly Hanson and Shorts this morning and walked round a five mile route across fields, through woods and along deserted lanes. Well, I say deserted lanes, there was this bit where I was accosted by an over enthusiastic hound who decided a slow jogging man in shorts was more fun than it’s dawdling owner, and decided to jump up and deposit the contents of his paws all over my stuff to the sound of “Get down Jack” Hey Ho…But with the sun rising up from behind a row of houses and managing to complete some long stretches of steady jogging without being thrown to the ground in intense pain, I consider this mornings outing to be somewhat of a success.

If I can still manage to hobble around later a visit to the cinema at Meadowhall to see ‘A Streetcat Named Bob’ is imminent, that is, after one of those marvelous Egg & Bacon Bloomers at M&S…Getting some black looks off Mrs Fox now because she thinks I should be in the shower scrubbing my bits instead off wasting my time on the computer…She gives women a bad name!

ah well I did try I’ll try to make the Fun…erh…Rail???

will they be burying Bobs bits as well as his running shoes??

Mrs Fox Goes Shopping…

Mrs Fox has set off early on the bus to go and find a mirror for the hall. She will ring me to go and a pick her up in the motor if she finds one, so I’ll take this opportunity to fit in a blog while the house is quiet before she calls…

Don’t ask me how the running is going…Well alright then if you insist…
Had a decent five mile walk on Tuesday morning with some excellent bits of jogging put in, I came home feeling that perhaps my injury was going to clear up quicker that normal. So on Wednesday morning I agreed to go with Mrs Fox on her early morning walk. Pain all the way round which continued for the rest of the day. So I’ve abandoned all hope of going out this morning and I’ll just have to let it settle down. I’m like a coiled spring now, it’s so hard not to do something when your body is screaming out for some exercise.

After Tuesday’s walk, as planned, we drove off to the cinema in Meadowhall to watch ‘A Streetcat Named Bob’ I didn’t purchase an M&S Bloomer for lunch, instead I visited my usual sandwich shop and ended up with a Tuna Mayo Salad on a Brown Baguette.
They are normally very good, but then, I usually have a white baguette. For some reason when she asked “Brown or white” I asked for brown…It was horrid, like eating Balsa Wood, apparently nobody has the brown ones so it had probably been there since before the civil war. I’ll not make that mistake again.

Anyway, A Streetcat Named Bob…It’s a feelgood film and not much really happens. Your regular junkie who plays a bit of guitar and busks around London gets befriended by a ginger tom and it turns his life around. Someone writes a book about it and he gets all the royalties. I wonder if someone might be interested in writing a book about a washed up runner from Yorkshire? I’ll go cold turkey to get off my Ibuprofen habit if they fancy it…I’ve got the cat…Looks like Bob too except he’s a she…Maddie…Aww Bless.

Morning Bob

Make sure your boot’s empty … Mrs Fox might have a lot of M&S bags too

To be sure Myrtle.
Mrs Fox is not very happy! I asked her not to call me while I was having my lunch and watching ‘Bargain Hunt’…So when did she call me? While I was enjoying my Salmon and cucumber sandwich and watching Nick Knowles sending in the bargain hunters…Don’t they select some rubbish? What on earth were they thinking…:cool::cool:

This I’ve got to see…Mrs Fox being silent for a whole minute!:-p

 It’s obvious you never have a deaf and dumb breakfast Bob … Must be because you are a perfect husband … or maybe Mrs Fox is very tolerant

Yes Perfect Myrtle, well spotted…

@OGF

ya pushin against the odds Bob - you know what happened to Bob the Builder??

There are three certainties in this world Gumbud, Death, Taxes and BOB’S BITS…:-D:-D:-D

I can feel a blog coming on…:024:…After I’ve painted out the boiler cupboard though…Mrs Fox is in the building today!!!

I visited the cinema at Meadowhall on Wednesday to watch ‘Arrival’…We went with some friends and because the ladies in our lives wanted to see ‘The Light Between Two Oceans’ Urg! Us blokes went to see Arrival…I can’t tell you what it was about because I haven’t got a clue, so if anyone goes to see it and can make head or tail of it please let me know…Wish I’d gone to watch the other film now.

They started doing some refurbishment work at Meadowhall in the summer, unfortunately it will be next summer by the time it’s finished. So there is a noticeable absence of Christmas decorations inside the building, but some very nice stuff outside…After it closes they must work like ants to complete that nights schedule of work in order to make it safe to open next day. They must have lost an awful lot of revenue this year though…

Running progress? Walked my usual five miler on Thursday morning and managed to jog most of it, but the best part is, no after effects, so I shall have another jog in the morning and see if I can still walk and stand up straight afterwards.

Started out early this morning in the wind and the rain and the mud. Walked the first mile to warm up and then started to jog, fantastic, managed to keep it going for the remainder of the trip (4 miles) arrived home glowing and warm but covered in mud from the last mile down the lane. With just a hint of discomfort in the buttocks I’m sure it will settle down over the rest of the day.

It’s not all good news though, I’ve been suffering with a steadily worsening pain down the right side of my face and last night it woke me up, it was serious enough to have to resort to the Ibuprofen at four in the morning. Thankfully it did take the pain away and I was able to drop off again. It seems a bit high for it to be a tooth, more like sinus trouble, but whatever it is it’s made my face look swelled below my right eye. I’ve been ordered by Mrs Fox to seek an explanation from the Doctor first thing tomorrow.

Good thing Mrs Fox takes care of you

Glad you was able to jog for a few miles

Tried to sleep last night but no chance the pain in my face was just excruciating, so at one this morning I gave it up as a bad job and after shoving down some strong pain killers I watched some TV before returning to bed where I snatched an hour here and an hour there.
I managed to get an appointment with the Doctor this morning and after a thorough examination he decided I have got a serious sinus infection and prescribed using steam inhalation and some heavy duty antibiotics. He also spent ten minutes questioning me about why I don’t take a statin…He was a hard man to convince.

It looks like Tuesday’s run will have to be cancelled but that won’t be too much of a hardship as today’s non stop heavy rain will have turned the lane into a canal…Must go now, it’s time for another pain killer and I’m struggling. This is the worst pain I’ve had since getting stung by a ‘Portugees Man O War’ while swimming in the sea on a school trip to Belgium…But that’s another story.

Bob  try laying your face on a hot water bottle covered in a soft towel to help with the pain. The pain should be a bit better by this time tomorrow when the Ab’s kick in .

Thanks Meg, if I were a horse I’d ask them to shoot me!
Another sleepless night after having taken a handful of painkillers.
The painkillers are not lasting as long as they were yesterday, and although doing the steam inhalation helps for a while the pain soon returns with a vengeance.
I am finding it hard to watch TV, read or write on the forum, and this morning the swelling in my face had doubled and I am beginning to look like the ‘Elephant Man’ :frowning:
Although I’ve been able to eat without any pain in my teeth I am thinking that pain like this could only be coming from a tooth and have made an appointment to see my dentist this afternoon for a second opinion.

Hope to see you all soon…If it is a tooth, he better take it out today…Or I will! I can’t be doing with another night like last night…

Oh Bob, poor you! I can’t think of any worse place to have pain than round your mouth, nose and ears. I hope you get a correct diagnosis but, if it is an infection, it may take a few days of antibiotics and pain killers before you get any real relief.
I have my fingers crossed that they can find a fast method to relieve your pain. Good luck!

Bob it sounds very similar to a problem I had recently which was the result of a periodontal abscess behind an impacted wisdom tooth .The pain extended to my ear and throat and I was climbing the walls with pain (it was the weekend and the dentist was closed)

Many antibiotics take about 36 hours to kick in so hopefully you will get a bit of relief soon .

I was torn between going to the GP and the Dentist because I wasn’t sure what the problem was , thank goodness I chose the Dentist. The GP I am seeing at the moment is about 12 and idiot and I frequently know more than she does.

Good luck with the dentist  mine stuck a scalpel into my gum and there was instant relief

If is an abcess a rolled up (unused) tea bag inside your mouth next to the infected area works a treat … leave as long as possible and keep reinserting … hey presto !!! the abcess bursts within a few hours and instant pain relief
