Hello Everyone, has anybody in this forum and/or knows someone who’s had (bladder botox) ??
I am considering it; maybe for next year; I would appreciate any feedback and so forth.
My wife has botox treatment due to a weak bladder. She gets done roughly once a year or when the botox fails. She describes it as “unpleasant” to have it, but it is effective. However, she has been told that she may have to use catheters after treatment, but so far, hasn’t had the need.
I haven’t had bladder botox myself, but I’ve read that it can be very effective for people with overactive bladder when other treatments haven’t worked. It’s usually done as a quick outpatient procedure, and the effects can last several months before needing another round. Like you say, it’s worth hearing from others who’ve tried it, but it’s also something to discuss carefully with a specialist so you know what to expect. Thank you for raising the topic, it’s good to share and learn together here.
I have never heard of it. What does it do?
Bladder Botox: An effective treatment for overactive bladder (OAB) and urge incontinence.
A urologist injects Botox into the bladder muscle to block nerve signals, reducing spasms
and leakage. The procedure takes about 15 minutes, provides relief lasting 6 to 12 months,
and is typically done on an outpatient basis.
