My son was going to install a birdhouse today but found it was already occupied .
What type of snake it it? and is it venomous?..are you still in Australia,Muddy?
I thinks its a carpet python. Kids keep them as pets, they eat rats and mice and the occasional cat. Quite harmless.
PS I THINK its a carpets python I am no snake expert though I recognise the common ones like brown snakes and red bellied blacks (both very poisonous)
You are right Bruce it is a carpet python .It lives in the garden they have a cat but it stays indoors as they are near to a national park and cats are not supposed to roam free .
However it does have access to the deck on which Mr Python is reclining in the picture .
