I listened to Sweet Baby James this morning, haven’t heard it for years not being a James Taylor fan, but it hit the spot!
Just suppose you had your hands on the controls , a twelve track complication album on vinyl dedicated to melancholy, not necessarily doom and gloom but something a tad more subtle,.

Love your choice for track 11, both melancholic and evocative
Waterloo Sunset makes me feel nostalgic for the place and I’ve never lived there.
I’ve never quite thought about it like that before 
After much pondering and reflection I’ve selected my next two tracks.

Track 4: New Dawn Fades - Joy Division
And really sad … Nick Drake, died from an antidepressant overdose, very very young. Perhaps his tunes, more than most, betray his private melancholia.
Oh I shall be getting sad soon … this kind of music is so stirring and beautiful but really tugs at your emotions so can be a bit too much if you’re in a low mood.
Most Radiohead are quite miserable but tuneful
I’d forgotten about them … atmospheric.
