At long long last the builders have finished to my son Ben’s house. It has been a long haul with the amount of work needed to put right.Such as broken floor tiles in the old room used as a kitchen l Not only moving the kitchen (all new units) to another room but the boiler plumbing walls etc even the back garden needed a mini digger in. You name it and it needed work even fixing a window that didn’t shut Sue and Ben are doing some final work such as painting and in the new kitchen tiling. Friday BT in again as they refused to run the fibre optic cable in the house so Ben did that, now they have to come back and connect up. New carpets booked and some furniture/beds ordered as well. So now he can soon move in and take all his stuff stored with us.
Have to say what a difference it has made and must have added to the value enormously. His two eldest daughters flights booked “I believe” to fly over so he has to get a move on now
The house was a rented house and the landlord did nothing to maintain,now Ben ownes it and the neighbours needless to say are happy, I have met them and they are nice .

yes it does Muddy. carpets arriving on wednesday- BT been in and connected up-Loads of stuff ordered and he is still ordering more like douvets table/chairs- settee- beds- blankets- cutlery- plates etc oh the list goes on and on. think he and Sue are looking at curtains this weekend as well,one doesn’t realise how much is needed starting from virtually nothing .

yes everything, the stuff from his old house a lot not worth keeping and what was we have stored but needs sorting and most chucked.
This one he is moving into was a rented one that he bought and needed extensive modernisation with nothing in it. even the solid floor tiles were lifting, you name it it needed replacing, the builders filled 2 skips they took out so much before they could start on the upgrade oh and also a mni digger to clear the back garden the content of which went into a flat bed lorry
Phew!I hope they enjoy a long and happy stay there after all that.
time will tell when they all get together. his wife and the two youngest are staying in Brazil for a bvit longer and he is having the two eldest here in UK early December. So should be interesting to say the least.
Not my Idea of how a family should exist but I am only the grandfather so staying well clear and letting them get on with it
