No, I’m sorry, but I’m not convinced. I think teaching about pecking order by bare buttocked humiliation is bullying with sexual undertones, and the victims perpetuating it the next year, a bit sick
What would have happened to them if they hadn’t complied? Or challenged the pecking order?

That is just your opinion and you were not there, I was. The ablutions episode was nothing to do with any staff and was created by prefects long before I became a pupil to help bolster the ‘house’ system.

I would hope it didn’t have anything to do with the staff because I would think they could be retrospectively sued for abuse?
But the adolescents claiming this sort of nasty, sleazy bullying was to bolster the ‘house’ system, rather than their own sadism and elitism? Really? Did anyone buy that even back then?
They have been dead for decades and also many my my year’s pupils … I’m 80+
