I was saddened to hear the news of the passing of Barry Cryer this morning, comedian, comedy writer and all-round good bloke.
He wrote for some of the comedy greats, including Morecambe and Wise, The Two Ronnies, and even Spike Milligan. His act and comedy style was never offensive, unlike today’s “comedians” who seem to think that peppering their comedy routines with swearing is funny.
I remember years ago there used to be a TV show called “whose Baby”, which had a panel guessing the identity of children’s “celebrity” parents. Barry Cryer was a regular panel member and had to keep opting out as he knew all the families. It struck me then what a nice man he must be to have been invited into all those “celebrity” families.
