During the week when I switch on for the BBC one o’clock news, I always catch the end of Bargain Hunt. That’s when they all link arms, and say “More Bargain Hunt, Yes!”, and then kick their legs in the air. I’m afraid I’ve started doing the same, even shouting out yes! Is this extremely sad behaviour, or wonderful news, that a pensioner can still get their leg up,(not over)!?? Any other secret Can Can Dancers!?

I can can never understand why they do that at the end of every Bargain Hunt.
I can touch my toes without bending my knees
and I can kick my foot up to the height of my head in a fake karate-style move!
Does that count? 
As can I. Mind you, I have to use a stick to do so. 
I’ve just practised!
If I bend with legs slightly apart I can even touch the palms of my hands on the floor!

I’m glad someone else does that, John … yes, I own up to kicking my leg in the air (not very high!) and giving a shout of yes at the end of the programme!
In fact it’s sometimes the best bit of the programme …

I like Bargain Hunt but don’t kick my leg at the appropriate moment even though I could make a pretty good show of it.
What does annoy me a little is the way the experts are always putting their arms around the contestants. If I was a contestant, I’d be saying “Get off me will ya!” …unless it was Caroline Hawley of course.
In my humble opinion, I think you’re both sad.

We do it every time john. We also do the ’ very very very good luck’ bit at the beginning. The programme has really gone down hill of late and that kick thing at the end id the best bit.
