Bank of England to redesign banknotes - and wants your help

Since we’ve been recently been discussing cash on a different topic I was wondering what images we might prefer on our cash stash in the cocoa tin under the bed?

I’ve been mulling it over while sipping on my first coffee of the day. I’m going for something upbeat, traditional and essentially British :uk:

Who knows…I might even be encouraged to actually spend some of it! :open_mouth:

I can’t stand innuendo. If I see one in a script I whip it out immediately.

KW used to live in Great Portland Street Central London. I was walking home from school with my buddy one afternoon and we bumped into him. He immediately went in Carry On mode, started posturing and pulling every face under the sun! :joy:
For that alone he should be displayed on a bank note! :grinning: :+1:

It’s not worth anything anyway.

How about some nature and wildlife inspired designs such as English Roses, British birds, trees or wildflowers or wildlife in general. I’m sure King Charles would support this and so many ordinary people care about these concerns in their daily lives. Even though they might printed on a kind of plastic!

I was going to say this one, but we already have that one…

They should put the faces of all the billionaires/oligarchs on it - to remind people the system is built for them, not us… the rest of us are just modern day slaves :101:

They could even put my face on it then they would never get used

I think Lewes brought out their own currency some years back

Non-Brits typically associate positive things with Britain like castles, the monarchy, coasts and green pastures, pubs, English breakfast and tea time, music, cricket, and horse races. There seem to be many consensual motives to choose from.

Might work locally but perhaps not on a national level. We have similar regional currencies as well.

That sounds pretty close to me Dachs…

Just an idea: Choosing those things that you would like to see preserved. They would appeal to people on a national and international level.

Sadly it’ll end up with something green…

He’s our local MP Spitty, and I don’t like him when he’s not angry because he is a knob!.. :009:

Oh well!
I’ve just completed the survey on The Bank of England website. It’s quite basic. I don’t think Kenneth Williams is going to get a look in

I’m being serious, Banksy’s Balloon Girl or any other one of his works for the Banksy of England. OK he may be anonymous but his works are famous, the most famous. A symbol of love, loss, innocence, and hope,
