Glad to hear that you have arrived home safe Bruce…Back to that cool Australian weather…

Oh boy, is it cold! Positively frigid after that lovely Pommie weather. I have had my fan heater on virtually all day in my bedroom (smallest room in the house)
Only August to get through before it starts warming up again though.
Yeah, it’ll be the other way round soon Bruce…

I’ve got to agree, long haul flights hold no appeal - even if you’ve paid for a bed. Back when (much) younger I’d thinking of the 12 hour flight to Los Angeles for a couple of days work and fly back again. Now anything more than 2-3 hours seems tedious, tiring and stressful.
Good that you are back home Bruce. We are all envious of your cooler weather. Perhaps you even have some rain?
It is interesting, according to my rain gauge there was 6.5mm for the whole month I was away.
The BOM is predicting a super El Nino building up they say that they have little idea what it means because it has never happened before but the oceans are warmer than ever. El Nino usually means a dry spring but warm oceans mean more rain. Who would know if they don’t?
It is just too long for me these days. There was a time when I would drink until I reached somewhere like Dubai then sleep for the rest of the journey but those days are behind me now.
I think even the 8 hour flight to Malaysia is too much for me now.
I was talking to my son in Darwin this morning he is flying to Singapore with the Quarantine Service to inspect American vessels then going down to Melbourne for the same purpose, they are bringing 100s of military vehicles into Australia under the AUKUS agreement (I think that is right). He gets to fly business class all the time. ![]()
