I had a friend who was an engineer with British Rail, he was the first response to recover and repair broken down trains. He was also called out to remove body parts from animals and sometimes people who had collided with a speeding express to prevent the train from entering a station with someones body all over the frontâŠ
My son witnessed a frightening incident at our local railway station just the other day. A man climbed onto the parapet of the bridge which runs between the platforms and was threatening to jump. Eventually some people were able to pull him back just before the train was due. Had he jumped he would have landed on the electric cables that run above the track. The man was taken away in an ambulance.

Best viewing wembley from a distance. If you wanted to see evidence of the negative publicity about London Wembley central high street and surrounding areas are a great example.
In terms of safety central tourist zones are safe and well policed. Where I used to live is now dubbed âcrack centralâ and residents are afraid to walk there for fear of mugging or intimidation . Rubbish dumped everywhere and constant public meetings with the council after a spate of fatal stabbings. It was a nice area only a couple of years ago.

As a courier I once went to the new Wembley Stadium to deliver a couple of thousand glow sticks for the Prince concert later that night. The place was deserted except for a couple of security guards who explained that the Prince concert was at the O2 Arena at the other side of the city.
I had to do a hasty dash across London where I was shown through the gates and the security and into the main arena in my vanâŠIt was hastily removed and the concert went ahead as plannedâŠPhew!

Today I went for a walk with my brother and his dog but peeled off to go into Macclesfield town centre.
Spent a bit of time shopping (buying pork pies) before wandering down to the Silk Museum. Macclesfield was the centre of the silk industry it turns out.
If was a free museum, at first I thought I had innocently wandered into the stuff the British stole exhibition. 
It was a collection of stuff from Egypt âcollectedâ by two women (the MBs) originally displayed at another local museum which had closed.
Then I found the real purpose of the museum - showing the history and machinery of the silk industry.
They even had some hands on exhibits which were very interesting too. I was impressed enough to put all my shrapnel into their donation box. They had a mill attached but by then I was too tired to visit it (a mistake?)
In the afternoon my brother, nephew and I visited the local pub where we had a couple of beers.
It was not so warm today at times I was tempted to get my cardigan on, but resisted until the evening, not a bad day at all.
BTW Macclesfield it beat Crystal Palace in the FA cup. (I think)

Regularly drove down to Southampton for B&Q, itâs where there head office used to be, at Chandlers Ford Annie. Also places in Kent, Dorset and Sussex, and at the other end, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee. I loved the long runs, the money was exceptional and sometimes I could pick up a job coming home, a double whammyâŠ
Speaking of Macclesfield, I once had a job there to repossess a computer from a small business that couldnât pay the rental. Either pay up, or I take it away.
It was all boxed up when I arrived so I collected it without a struggle.

My brother is going camping a week after I leave with his dive club so I went with him and nephew to a store called Decathlon. It is like Bunnings for campers and sportsmen.
I had told my brother about Malamoo 3 second tents and they stocked something similar as a 2 second tent.
He bought their version for ÂŁ50 but needs to put it up so I can show him how to fold it back up, it is easy but there is a knack, unfortunately it has been raining today so it will have to wait.

It did rain for a reasonable while not heavy rain but rain none the less.
I would say that London and indeed everywhere I visited has a severe shortage of bubblers (water fountains?) they are few and far between. There was one I spied in London which I thought was a good idea but a lot more are needed preferably for drinking from as well.
Australia has a lot of them where people gather, the newer ones have a place for drinking and for filling a water bottle, the overflow water is then discharged into a basin at the base for a dog to drink before that overflows into the drain.

Am winding down now, only a couple of days to go.
Went for a walk along the Macclesfield canal this morning.
Noticed a badgerâs set by the side of the canal. (I think)
Looks abandoned to me.
One of those bridges that allow the horse to cross over from one side of the canal to the other without being unharnessed.
Then along a rail trail (thank you Mr Beeching)
This evening went for a lovely meal at the local Indian restaurant with my brother, sister in law and nephew.
