One of my favourites is the Grass Tree - Xanthorrhoea
Grass Trees, formerly known as Blackboys,(no longer politically correct) can live for 600 years and are among the oldest living plants on the planet.
There are 66 species of grass tree and they are only found in Australia.
Grass Trees have a growth rate of 1/4" a year.

After the flowers have been Bee Pollinated they “Set Seed”
All Grass Trees growing in the wild have blackened stumps because bushfires have ravaged the area.

If a fire has not ravaged the area for many years, Grass Trees retain their “Skirt”
