So I got quite excited when I first heard that NASA was sending a new rocket to the moon. I’m not fan of Musk’s space company but perhaps the time is right for new exploration of our only real satellite.
Then I find out they are going to go around the moon. All that way and not stopping. What is the point of putting people in a tin can to do what has been done unmanned many times? No new photos or videos of astronauts skipping over the lunar surface, no samples of moon rock, nothing.
Before, when I had expected a moon landing, there was scope for defending the expenditure for all of this. But all that cost just to swing by then head straight home. Dear me.
I did read that they had problems with the toilets … and Microsoft software.
Half a century on and no real advance … I know what you mean.
I thought Musk was mad keen to get to Mars.
I thought they were going to land on the moon but it’s just a moon orbit
I think this is just a dry run for future moon landings eventually a lunar base is planned…
Maybe not such a dry run…
Hi
It is the first step to get to Mars in the next decade.
This is just like a test flight in a new aircraft.
It is the most powerful rocket ever built.
I admit I’m not impressed or at all excited about it … I wonder what young un’s think about it? Perhaps to them it’s a big step for Mankind.
I feel the same @Morticia. I remember the first moon landing in 1969 very clearly, so been there done that comes to mind. That one was very exciting, seen on black and white TV.
I hope these brave people haven’t risked their lives just so Trump can boast about something.
That is a real risk as Trump desperately needs more to distract from Iran and Epstein.
I don’t have the enthusiasm that I had for moon launches in the late 1960s but it is an interesting adventure none the less.
As for the launch? Seen one rocket launch, seen 'em all.
So cynical… but so true.
Incredible images and audio quality of the astronauts in their capsule. Could almost be in a Hollywood Studio.
Again.
Don’t say that … I don’t want to believe it was a hoax.
But I know the Mars mission was fake as I saw Capricorn One.
you think the lady astronaut is leaving her hair loose to prove they are really in space? I kept wondering why she hasn’t tied it back.

I predict a new hairstyle trend being launched, with demands for a “Koch”, lawsuits resulting in mispronunciation abounding.
