Well Max doesn’t bother about that. Wags his tail with a few of the guys are at the refuse truck… Ammunition and fireworks are a different matter.

@Besoeker Sorry I meant after the bin men have gone because they should be early, barley just doesn’t like the bins full stop and if they get moved about by the wind he won’t like it. 
Good for Max not being bothered by them.
Our bin men are sometimes early but lately, like today, they are now around three ish. Different route I guess.

Yes, Logan, its our bin day tomorrow and I dont fancy the bin men’s chances of finding half of them. Bet they’ll be all over the roads once they’ve been emptied.
Maybe the men wont even be working if its bad though?

One of dogs, Gertie, is nervous in these winds. It spooks her outside when the huge neighbouring trees are creaking and waving about.
I suppose it distorts their hearing, like it does horses.

My sweet pointer, sadly long gone, used to get in the bathtub anytime it thundered. She was inconsolable.

Oh yes. Sari has always been a nervous wreck when there’s a storm. She takes shelter in the most quiet corner under my desk and can’t sleep at night. She doesn’t understand what’s going on and needs a lot of reassurance and attention. Same as New Year’s Eve but then she barks more.

Thanks Pauline I will but it hasn’t been as bad as they said that it would be.
Barley and Berry are fast asleep, they had the walks at 10am.
The bin men still came round at 7 am as usual.

My dogs feel storms naturally before I do. Because they feel the barometric pressure and the sounds long before humans do. I can tell when they start hurdling around me and seeking a safe area.

Ours is the same.If she goes to hide under the bed we know a storm is coming.

My dog isn’t too bad with storms. He just shows concern when there is thunder or a lightning strike, but he doesn’t shake with fear like some dogs.
He was traumatized by the fireworks around the 4th, though, and now he won’t go outside when it’s dark! 
It has not been stormy here for a while so our wee dog has not suffered but Max, my collie, did so terribly…
Not a pet … (I wish!) … but once when there was a minor earth tremor I looked out of the curtains and saw two foxes trotting along the road side by side together.
First and only time I’ve seen two like that.
Thanks for the welcome I have 3 dogs they are like my shadows.
I have a couple of dogs, the older one is entirely relaxed in a storm but the 5 year old gets a bit anxious. We get quite frequent thunderstorms. He is ok if we are in the house but if we are out he will get outside and sit in the rain waiting for us to come home. One time, when he was really young, he got out of the garden and disappeared. Bit of a panic but found him down the road. The lesson here is to get back home before the storm hits.
