Are you using the wrong pen for your handwriting grip style?

This is a video from an online stationery store, so beware, they’re selling stuff.

I thought it was interesting because they show the different handwriting grips and which pens are best.

I have the first style grip, called a tripod grip, normally taught in schools. They say that fountain pens and gel pens are best for this grip style. Ball point pens are less conducive. I wish I had known this earlier. It took me years of trial and error to figure that out.

There’s the quadrupod grip and death grip. There’s also recommendations for lateral grip and big and small hands.

Did they get your grip style and preferred pen right?

Wrong grip for holding my pen? I’m still struggling with my knife and fork.

As long as i can write with it that`s fine by me.

We had to use a Fountain Pen at School, which I loved, but n ow just use a Ballpen with black ink.

My hand writing has always been quite good.

My fountain pen…

What is a pen? :grinning:

I am a tripod gripper but in recent years have come across people who hold their pen tightly between thumb and forefinger which looks most odd and clumsy. There is no gap between thumb and forefinger.

I recently noticed a new GP used his pen like this and he looked like a child.

And what’s with people writing upside down? :hushed:
