We feel relatively safe here, because we live halfway down a hill, so any floodwater, drain overflow just runs past our house in a torrent. I have, however, seen the chaos caused in the village just the other side of the railway line at the bottom of our road.

Hi
My house has a garden sloping down from the road.
It is heavy clay, so yes, I do have problems from time to time.
Good to hear that things are safe where you are & your overflowing water buts mean you can care for your garden if the heat returns.
I think we were lucky here because we had a bit of rain on some of the hot days, so the earth didn’t get too hard. My house is surrounded by farmers fields so I think he was allowed to water them as it was food for his herd of cows… there were no restrictions here.
A bit o rain last night - no big deal. None of the promised thunderstorms, just heavy rain. As if by magic, all the dandelions on the lawn have sprung up overnight. Looks like I’ll need to cut the grass this weekend.
