Are you a miser when buying your lunch on a day out?

Yikes

Tartar sauce innit.

You might be surprised:
The cheeseburger comes in at about 290 calories and has 12 grams of fat. It’s a simple mix of beef, cheese, and condiments, making it a decent choice for a quick meal. In contrast, the filet-o-fish, while it’s often perceived as a healthier alternative, packs in about 400 calories and 21 grams of fat.
Ok, so that is a comparison with a cheeseburger rather than a big mac (580 calories). So it does not look like the filet-o-fish diet is going to work.
But surely all MacD’s stuff is disgustingly fatty, high in salt, low in anything healthy. And you are giving money to a company that rewarded its CEO $18m in pay & rewards each year while it pays its staff minimum wage. And don’t ask about the chemicals used to grow the potatoes that they make their chips/fries from - so bad that once harvested the potatoes need to be aired for 3 days. MacD is worth a detour to avoid.

Crispy white Pollock fish filet patty, with cheese and tartare sauce, in a steamed bun. From an MSC certified sustainable fishery.
Bare in mind, Fillet o Fish costs between ÂŁ2.19 and ÂŁ4.29 dependent on location, a bag of Chips costs ÂŁ5.70 so for that price you can have a Fillet and small Fries, and, still be having less calories than regular Chips.

I would have walked out but I was with two friends & they had already bought adult meals unfortunately. The food was in front of the counter & you picked what you wanted, seeing their plates I knew it was too much for me & no way do I like paying for food that will be wasted.

My God
I’m a throwback. I don’t like eating out incase they’ve spat in the food or have a health hazard kitchen but if I’m really tempted to indulge and weaken then it’s the good old fashioned chip shop for me.
I just adore chips and steak & kidney pudding with lashings of gravy. Eaten out of a tray, watching the ducks.

You’ll probably need a good old fashioned trough for that.

Of course, how else would I get my snout around a decent sized portion.

Missed this post before. I absolutely agree @Rose2 . Eating is one of the great pleasures in life. When I travel I want to try everything even if it is merely a camel or a moose burger.[/quote]

Yes, we also have travelled a lot. I liked alligator when we had it in Georgia.

Thank you kindly, Rose2. We had family, us old yins, the middle lot, and the children. I had it on Sunday so all get together but my actual birthday is a day later, the same as my grandfather would have been.
