Given the recent news concerning cyber attacks and the rather uninspiring situation in general in the world today should we make at least some kind of provision for ourselves?
An emergency box probably wouldn’t go amiss in any household. LED torch and lanterns, means of heating food and boiling water, reliable lighter etc.
Oh, and let’s not forget the wind up radio!
And then there’s food to consider, plenty of bottled water in the cupboard, tinned fruit, tinned meat and the dried stuff in a cupboard. I’ve no desire to lapse into the nuclear bunker mentality but it is food for thought… isn’t it?
HaHa yes, nothing new there. It’s all part of the plan, keep them on edge with a steady trickle of shock horror stories, from deadly virus to impending war, don’t make it too easy.
Anyway, we’ve still got past-useby-date tinned sardines left over from last time.
Good post Chilli, the more technologically advanced we become the more likelihood of some kind of breakdown.
We had our water cut off for a couple of hours last month. A power failure stopped the pumps. And I realised how stuffed we were without water. It’s just something you take for granted but don’t half miss it when it’s not there…

A jerry can of Diesel for the motor. Pity about the poor folk in EV’s if the power goes down. Try storing a charge in a Jerry can.
…it certainly is, albeit not a very tasty one. But it corresponds to the recommendations regularly made by our authorities. We could survive about a fortnight on our provisions, I reckon, but I should get some gadgets like that radio…
Still, we’re not prepared.
