I’ve found young people in Australia are more friendly to old people than in the UK and not in a patronizing way.

The only time I’ve ever experienced any unkindness (as in shouting F.O. and laughing) is when I’ve reprimanded the damn school kids zooming past me on the pavement at break neck speed, nearly giving me heart attack
