Are Car Tyres expensive where you are?

Just now priced four new tyres for my Mitsubishi AXS - $700

Is that to do with inflation?

No, Australia is an expensive country and businesses take advantage of that fact.
There are cheaper brands.

It depends on the tyres (brand, rim diameter, width). All season tyres for SUVs tend to be. I paid AUD 1,600 for them (Michelin 215 / 18").

£50 - £100

Edit … just googled … maybe a bit more than that now.

The tyres on my car are about $220 (£110) each (Toyo A/T Open Country) so $880 for a set but they last well, they’ve done 80,000km so far.

AU$140 each.
Rather acceptable price that. :slightly_smiling_face:

I used to buy new Israeli tyres in London for my Morris Minor van for £5 each, the tread looked like it had been cut with a knife. The van used to go through rear tyres like there was no tomorrow (no weight in the back)
