I’ve never read it and was wondering whether to bother. I could do with something racy in my life. Rigor mortis is setting in this winter it’s so dismal and dark … and grey.
I downloaded the kindle sample and after a few pages I was bored.
Good idea to check with your medical practitioner before you embark on this risky venture.
I read it when it came out. I have a funny story about why I read it. There’s me in Tesco back in 2011 looking for a new book to read on the train. I found this enigmatic and intriguing book which appeared to be high in the top ten. It’s cover didn’t give much away. I honestly thought it was a psychological thriller or some sort of murder mystery! It wasn’t until I was sitting on the train and started blushing that I realised it was not all it seemed!
As it was written by the author on her mobile phone on a train originally as fan fiction for the Twilight saga, (which in itself is written as fan fiction for several classics), it’s not exactly high end literature. But as the story line is based on these classics it is in some senses a good story.
It’s an interesting twist on Twilight. Which is in itself I think a product of Meyer’s own take on attitudes to Mormons. Meyer has also written sci fi novel “the Host”, which I thought was rather good. Again that novel struck me as being her way to represent the Mormon culture.
Fun fact - Meyer’s husband’s first name is Christian. As per Mr Grey.
