I also have not a single tatoo and have not seen one yet which could have made me think of having one.

No tattoos for me and Mrs mart but some of the children and grandchildren have them. I don’t mind. It seems just a part of modern life and they are all responsible types and doing OK in their various jobs.

I’m quite adept at using mirrors, I cut my own hair.
Perhaps we should leave it at that…

I don’t have any tattoos and none of my siblings do. Very few of the next two generations have them, either - although my Granddaughter has a Tattoo of a Bee on her ankle.

She was 18 years old at the time of the Manchester Arena terrorist bombing attack.
I am not sure how it started but there was a wave of young people getting tattoos of the “Manchester bee” in a gesture of solidarity with Manchester and the Victims - and to raise funds for the victims and their families.
I presume the Tattooists donated the tattoo fees to the Victim Fund - it is estimated that over 10,000 people got a “Manchester Bee” Tattoo and they raised over half a million ££s for the Victim Fund.

I think that most people would agree that having a tattoo was a good idea at the time, but people and situations change and tattoo’s just seem a bit too permanent.
It can be a bit like smoking in my day…Everyone did it and you were wuss if you didn’t…

I have a tattoo on each arm. Both birds done in the Celtic Art Style. Easily covered up especially in Winter they’re covered with my big sweaters.
Not cheap, not nasty, and I like them a lot.
Do I regret it? Not in the slightest.

No Tattoo’s for me

I thought more people would show a photo of their tattoo(s). I think only @d00d has been bold enough so far.(I hope I got that right)

I will have to rake through my pics then post if I can find any.

Can’t find the one of the humming bird, but did find the drawing I had the guy use.
Found my swan one though.

The biggest danger with tattoos is that one tires of them. My middle son’s first tattoo was an upside bird which was (I think) the logo of a band which came, crashed and burned.

My impression is that he hates it and wants to get it changed into something else, having them removed by laser treatment costs a lot more than getting them in the first place, and I mean a lot more.

This is not a criticism of tattoo, it is your body, but I am also reminded of a comment a few years ago that a Chinese visitor asked me whether people with Chinese writing tattoos actually knew what they meant.

She was talking about a girl walking in front of us who had a Chinese symbol on her neck for something very male. I suspect she just picked it because of the pattern rather than the meaning, let’s hope she never visits China.
