New Holland Honey Eater

Well, Bristol is the home city of Banksy - there is some great street art but unfortunately also a lot of mindless “tagging”
No thank goodness, they are the quickest way to make a place into a slum area. Just compare property prices near to and some miles away is a good indication
Yes, I was chatting to one of the locals about that. I’d like to get back and visit the Bristol area at some point, perhaps for a long weekend.
I’ve noticed … a blank wall can attract mindless tagging, if it’s covered with fine art the mindless taggers leave it alone.
Near where I used to court my Lovely Cousin.
Did you spot the moo-cow?
This one is clever.
On the same pub wall.
Banksy in Bristol.

Really love the Banksy stuff Fruitcake…

Oh crap, you’ve just outed me!
I took the first piccy from the top deck of a tour bus. The second one was harder to find but is near the Aardman Animation orifices which are near the SS Great Britain.
I think I need to spend a weekend in Bristol. I’ve been to many places as a courier, but a delivery to a sweat shop on the outskirts (pun intended) was the nearest I got . Strangely enough, it was in a predominantly black area, but when I entered the factory it was full of white folk… ![]()
Some great art there.
Street art brings the surroundings to life.
A few more from Weston-super-Mud and environs.
The tiger is just a few paces from the oriental lady.
This one is on the High Street.
On the old road out of town.
There is always something to see and do in Brizzle.
This is a different kind of street art on the wall of the Eye Hospital.
Impressive stuff Fruitcake… ![]()
Might be an idea to visit Bristol over the next couple of weeks as Bedminster is hosting the Upfest again this year. Great street art - runs from 17th May to 2nd June
Thanks Sheila, I’ll see what’s in my diary… ![]()
Latest mural just painted in town next to me
Come and see the beautiful new mural behind An Bínsín Luachra in the Market which commemerates the death of 6 year old Patrick Morrissey in June 1921. He was Ishot in crossfire between RIC & IRA while playing marbles.
Street art is strictly not allowed in and around Chichester, but travel eastwards towards Brighton, then a whole new horizon opens up.
Not my vicinity, but a place I visited a few years ago. A small selection of the twenty or so flood-wall mural panels at Portsmouth, Ohio, USA.
It is well worth a visit if you are ever in that vicinity.
Angouleme 40 mins South of where we Live in Montalembert…Visit Angouleme quite often, has a decent man made beach on the huge lakes there…picnic, rug and the sunshine…makes for a pleasant day out.
Then the street art is amazing…
Been in that room a few times now…no more… our super French/Greek Doctor has only gone and moved to just outside of Paris now…
