Almost half of all face-to-face GP appointments being taken up by ‘frequent

Neither did I, but anything can happen on here!

Our surgery has been brilliant throughout Covid and I’ve always seen a doctor face to face when I needed to.

If they can do it, so can the others and I know some people have been having an awful time. Questions need to be asked

But I do think it’s true that some people are always in the doctor, who probably don’t need to go that often

My uncle is a prime example. Every little niggle, and he’s up there. He’s there at least once a week, sometimes twice

And I think sometimes it’s about boredom, loneliness and the need for reassurance. It’s easy to get anxious about your health if you spend a long time on your own thinking about it, you can convince yourself your dying

Now he is elderly, and living alone and I think this is where nurses and district nurses could come in more.

He just needs someone to chat to about how he’s feeling and a check up, not to actually see a doctor. The nurse could do any tests required and refer him to the doctor where necessary.
