Sydney Airport is apparently very short of workers, 5000 in fact.
According to the radio this morning the Airport lost 15000 workers during the pandemic (basically it was shut) but since the borders have re opened they have regained 10000 of those workers however that still leaves them short of 5000 workers including baggage handlers, stewards, cleaners, security guards and more.
To try to fill this gap today the airport is having a jobs fair to try to employ those needed workers, about 3000 have registered and the airport is offering free parking to attend (imagine that!) everybody is welcome.
With unemployment at a 30 year low everybody is desperate for workers.
I wonder if this is a world wide trend after the pandemic? How is employment in your region?
