Ah, that’ll be The Roman Ridge, AKA earth works north of Rotherham.

With pleasure. We call it The Rig or the Roman Rig. It’s slang for The Roman Ridge which was a Roman road. The Romans were prodigious road builders and noted for their direct straights. The part of it we walk is near York Road.
