That was disappointing.Mostly modern monoliths of concrete and glass.Not much left of the old London at all.

Wow…I went to school in neighbouring Stepney during the 70’s, wouldn’t recognise much of Bethnal Green and Aldgate today.
I believe The Museum of Childhood is going to reopen during the summer under it’s new name Young V&A, well worth a visit for a nostalgic wallow.
Also while on the subject a TV film/drama was broadcast in 1975 dealing with the wartime disaster at Bethnal Green underground station. Unfortunately It’s a Lovely Day Tomorrow seems to be unavailable in any format, it was quite disturbing as I remember.
