A Victory for Common Sense?

Harry Miller, a man accused of 'Hate Speechfor issuing so-calledTransphobic` comments on Twitter, has won a court case and had the charges against him dismissed. His argument and a very valid one IMO was that it should NOT be a crime to cause offence. The judge said that the system for reporting real hate-speech, that inflamed or encouraged acts of violence against certain members of the community, was incorrectly used in this instance and was against Mr. Miller’s right of free speech.

I agree. It should not be an offence just for telling how it is. There are far too many thin skinned around always displaying faux outrage and anger :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

That’s right no one has the right to be NOT offended .

I’m glad to see that at least one judge has upheld the freedom of speech that we in this country have enjoyed for generations.
Free speech is just one of the things our people fought and died for in at least two world wars and should not be thrown away because of some trendy young idiots who seem to think that we no longer deserve such freedoms because they are ‘offensive’.

Thats a couple of things recently that have given me hope people are fed up of the political correctness we have all been subjected to for so.long…the other being the dismissal by the Supreme Court of gender neutral passports

Gender neutral passports were obviously a non-starter for the simple reason that passports are an international requirement.
Trendy left-wing Britain might like the idea, but I’d say the majority of the rest of the world would never tolerate such things.
